Google releasing a large update today

I don't think it's a manual penalty because a tonne of people got hit, some sites even clean 100% whitehat. It was just so random except for huge authority websites getting a huge boost and some no name off the wall site, but for everyone else, they mostly got hit.

I would just leave the site alone and continue doing what you are doing or making another backup site. That's what I did. I created another backup site back in February and have 30 articles on it, but it's still stuck in the fucking sandbox because again due to this POS google. The site gets more traffic from bing/yahoo/baidu/duckduckgo then google.

I've dropped about 65% since this update and as with previous falls from Google updates, it's impossible to pinpoint what went wrong. I've worked hard on content, on-page SEO, white SEO work in general but never much from that.

And like the rest, I can see that top Google results are Pinterest, YouTube videos, and shitty PBN sites. So it's more than frustrating when you've worked hard on following the rules and focused on UX and quality content.

I agree, and I hate feeling like I'm being held hostage by google.

Like who the hell are they to be telling me what to do with my site?

You pour so much heart and effort into your website while trying to follow their guidelines yet you still get hit by these algorithm updates. Now it wouldn't have been so bad if this was a once in a while update but as of late, these updates have been happening every single month which makes your traffic look like a rollercoaster.

I feel if you want to survive nowadays, you cannot have corporations like google control your traffic. You need to take the control back. Same with affiliate marketing. Amazon proved that with their result fiasco.

Sometimes I wonder too, spend so much time on the website , check this and that, bugs, flaws , contents, DMCA stuff, SEO , next is hosting expensive , if your site is heavy need more GB etc

a Capture page just get the cheapest host package will do , no need to mantain just spam the capture page all over , get leads

I'm in the process of switching over to email marketing.

Capture leads via lead magnets using pop up forms, sidebar forms, landing pages, etc.

Run the leads through a funnel using an email autoresponder, and write a few dozen emails and schedule them so that you have several months to a year's worth of emails to be sent out.

This can all be done in 1 month or less and you don't need to worry about none of that bullshit from google.

Actually both same I feel , as long you are doing Online marketing but if you do Capture page I see most just use Paid ad , Solo Ad , this is whereby you need some constant budgets depend how much u target.

website u pay once per year from domain to Host , or " maybe other services u have "
but site u can do a lot at one go ,

like ads , than put affliate links ,

haiz....let see how Google go

but I think now this update come to the end??? So the next again might be Sept ?

Nope, I use other social media to capture leads like youtube and my blog. I never once paid for any ads and I think after what google did, I don't think I will ever give them a cent from me. If I am going to use ads, I will pay for facebook or reddit ads.

And I'm going to boycott their products too.

Website is very cheap to host.

That is what i will do, create a new site for backup, and do blackhat on main. All my competitors are doing pure blackhat like 150k backlinks from 4 sites with the same anchor text....... And I heard that if you get the penalty you can still rank great.

interested to know for the primary keyword that you and your competitors are trying to get ranked for, what is the percent exact match anchor?
 
Continuing to lose keywords. Regained a couple of top 3 ones, but lost many more elsewhere. It has settled down for sure, but I am continuing to see fairly big drops in the past week. This is really unbelievable. I am hoping we will see a big update come from Google to fix this at some point. But I am (foolishly?) continuing to do the same thing for my content strategy. And then evaluate how and what I can do elsewhere. I run two Facebook groups, my Facebook page, Twitter and a newsletter so all those are over the months gaining more leads and followers. But dropping now about 70-75% search traffic is hard. As it is also really good traffic usually. Right buyer and search intent.

I am not sure Google will make any updates soon to revert what has been made, but I think parts of it will be reverted in the next 'planned' update.

What's your feelings towards an update before September?

Now, this is a backlink profile from my competitor who is first for every single search no matter if its long tail of single keyword he will be first. For me is 4% I tried to make my backlink profile natural.

so basically he has spammed the shit out of his anchor ratio and he is being rewarded for it?!

yap and only logical explanation- Google does not care or he got a penalty but because he haves a "strong" backlink profile he is ranking good still.
 
I'm not sure but I've been observing ranking sites based on keywords and I noticed that they have a great amount of nofollow links in their profile. Most of who's dominating on the search area has like 40% of their backlinks as nofollow.

or maybe, he has done this on purpose and used disavow file to fool his competitors to think about overspamming their anchors...... or maybe google does not give a fuck to spamming anymore....

i would go with the second option

Sad and now what I noticed from my other competitor is that they have 301 redirects from 4 different domains and they are not related....
