Google releasing a large update today

My new content is indexing but not ranking, dancing like crazy from the 3d page to below the 10th page. Is that normal?

That's about what I'm experiencing, yeah. But it's not much different to how it's always been for me.

Posted after the update, pretty up and down, but seems to be settling.

Normal dancing but seems to have mellowed out now.

How things were before the update. So not much different really.

It's not because of my niche because my competitors are being hit in exactly the way others are describing, losing keywords consistently, with a bump over the past few days. But my experience for whatever reason has been positive. So for example my site:

And my competitor:

I'm sure I will get hit in some future update. For now, I'll just try and figure out what's going on.

I've noticed that I've started getting more visitors from Bing and Duckduckgo, so that means people can't find stuff on Google anymore and turn to other search engines.

Still loosing KW, lets hope todays update make some sense and sort out everyones issue from last month!

For the first time since the update hit, I'm starting to see green up arrows on organic keywords on ahrefs and my overall organic keywords and traffic is starting to turn in the right direction. Just been adding new content bi-daily and building strong links - hopefully the recovery has begun.

Wow, losing that 116% organic really made you mad huh

Nah, I just hate trolls going around trying to start shit for no reason. Anyways back to this update.

I'm still losing a tonne of KW. Every single one of my competitors all lost a tonne of traffic as well.

I don't know when google's gonna get their heads outta their asses and fix this update.

lost all our featured snippets and lost over 50k in keywords, losing about 2k keywords a day. Main keywords are okay but long-tail keywords not ranking.

Same for me

Traffic still dropping day by day. I optimized the speed of my website yesterday, let's see if it will change something or not. Also validated the fix in search console for web vital things.

It's not about quality, speed or anything like that.

Google is working for maximum ad revenue. Your site can be squeaky clean, fastest thing to ever go on the WWW, it'd still tank.

My niche is special, there is no ads revenue to get from it for them. Most of my competitors have a nice speed so I'm just doing the same. We will see how it goes.
However, I still think that backlinks are the most important factor.

Backlinks did gain strength in the May update. For better and for worse. Blasting negative links seems to be working to destroy competitors, bc one of my sites got blasted.

One of my sites also tanked 80% and it was blasted with spammy negative porn anchored links. The Negative link blast started in april and from there it's sliding down the hill. Yet to figure out whether its the update or the spam blast which got it off.

It's definitely the may update causing the slump, I have a few sites, only one of the site got hit by negative links. One of the site was not affected after 5th May, in fact, it climbed, I think there was a mini update on the 24 - 25th May, it started declining then, lost 35 percent traffic. The rest of the sites declined after 5th May, including the ones with a clean link profile.

Hey guys, again :D
I know it may sound funny but... someone, sometimes are writing here "it was update to pay for google ads" and so on...
I saw an interesting thing. My websites that's actually paying for ads (from 2020 begin~), but without links & with low quality content is climbing as never (I saw it and said W T F). Others, not being advertised in google ads, STRONG, SO STRONG dump.
What do you think? It can be a factor or it's just an one-time accident?

This is the only truth. Google care about their own profit and sites like youtube, and their partners such as amazon, quora, reddit, pinterest, who knows what relationship they have and thats why they will always rank. You can do this or that, if you lucky maybe you will rank but in long term you will always lose against these corporations and their websites.

US Dept of Justice is already probing Google for its skewed search results. Hope it helps some day. Where are all the antitrust laws?
