MY site was ranking in india, hindi language website. Ranking drop today, pages not showing in google.

My english site also got hit last week but started recovering already

If i am not wrong,

Results are flooded with UG content from social media sites like facebook, youtube,reddit,quora etc.
Results show two similar results from same domain in serp
Author Bio with image and some skill is favored.

Any other?

I've never seen that many people got affected by it. I thought the May Core Update during 2022 was bad enough, but the HCU and the 2 ongoing updates (Spam and Oct core update) seem to hit even more people.

Some people are even posting how depressed they've become, some even contemplated suicide, some said they're seeking couselling for their mental health.

I think many of us never expect Google to become such a tyrant. I mean, some of us already knew long ago but their sudden drastic actions are just... damn...

So far, I'm seeing so many spam sites going up in the search results... So I'm not sure how effective are those 2 updates at the moment. lol

yea, the original site is gone and they literally index all the spam site! google need hard slap for them to wake up and do things right...

You can't make this up... Just yesterday we had the https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/google-released-the-october-2023-spam-update.1534613/unread rolling out.

And the previous core update was just 6 weeks ago.

Like i said problem is now you can buy a sponsered post and cheat google and rank right away in the top by buying on on sites like: Outlook India

Google getting flotted with sponsered spam from these sites
 
In Brazil, from the first week of October, several government and university websites started to appear on the first page for competitive keywords.

These sites redirect to casino and sports betting pages. There is another general news site that posts the same keyword every day in different articles and has two urls on the first page.

Sites related to the keyword were removed from the first and even the second page. On a 4-year-old website that had 25 thousand visits that day, yesterday I had 9 thousand.

I don't know what Google did, but the update made the SERPS worse in a way I've never seen before.

Google should simply give more power to kewyord domains and siites that only cover one topic like casinos. That way all this EDU tricks and sponsered by to rank post will go away. Also makes sense a site about gambling should have a gambling keyword in them so people know what site they going in to.

Went from 100 clicks a day to 15-20 clicks a day, average position in a free fall.

My content is hand-written and well researched. Guess what? My content got replaced by some university sites and even a Thai site with poorly translated content. Yeah, a Thai language site ranking for multiple English keywords in US for my niche.

Then there's pure GPT article sites ranking on top.

I believe you. A few months ago a university in the USA named me in an article in their blog and my keyword was position 2. Now after the update that university's note is 2, and I am 7 :S. My content is long, with images and handwritten. The university's is short, without images and of course without SEO.

Updates become their regular meal. Whenever they think they to sip on the drink they do. They don't have to ask the neighbors whether they like it or not.

But it is not that good. I pay $30 per article.
No linkbuilding yet. But that is the plan for 2024 if this state of Google continues :)
