Do any of you know of a pattern for how google decides which search terms get a 'box' ie 1 box, 3 box etc. Is it possible to force a one box where none exist, For example 'recruitment mytown' doesn't have a box but 'recruitment anothertown' does.

I suspect it is because there are no google Place or Maps listings to make them relevant enough to have a box, but before i try and force it I thought I'd throw it open to you guys to see what your experience is.

    Thanks

Search the terms maps, local or Google maps. Lots of good info floating around. I don't believe that you can actually force a one-box, but I do have a few in my city. Just not sure if they were there before I came along.

    Thanks Memorex,

I going to have a go at forcing a one box for some keywords and report back here in a few days, it ill be a useful service to sell to businesses if it can be pulled off...."here's a screen shot without a box and here's another a few days later with your company listed next to a map! Now how much you want to pay me to keep it there?";)

Please follow up after you've had try and making this happen. I (and I'm guessing other readers here) would be pretty interested in the results.
