Ok if you're using gmail for reviews open the account around 3 months before it even touches a review and use the account regularly.Use a mobile internet dongle or similar for fresh IP.There is no quick fix.
Someone said don't use keyword in title,London Plumbers 2 keywords a legit business name, google does not penalise this it penalises spamming keywords in the Cat.
As for reporting someone because they have a keyword in their business name is the act of someone scared of a real challenge e.g get higher than that listing.I wouldn't hires someone like you, deal with it,it's called competition.Besides it's happened to me and I contat google and they put the listing right back where it was #1.Google will have noted your IP and if you do listings with it how long do you think it'llbe before they suss out you're trying to eliminate the competition with your pettiness, then the hammer will fall very hard on you,I've seen it.
The maps trick doesn't work anymore, you can tell if it does it'll show on the listing but alot of people I know doing this have reported those citations missing now.
Regarding citations it's preferrable to build a few first and then place them on your website (google will automatically crawl your site when you create your listing and add a site). So if you can get,say,4-7 already active and link to them in your site, thats a big helping hand.
A sig link on an appropriate site as well helps.Sometimes google gives you citations that aren't yours, seen that a few times. You can create your local directories giving preference to your own businesses(clients).Add a wordpress blog and link to your own site making your there is a link to your places listing.Important note here, make the wordpress blog a good one,add decent content regularly. This works well but simply have your site link on the blog roll not in the posts. It'll help your listings and organic seo which is good because both now matter in google places.
On your main website I rarely change the home page but I'll create a page called latest news etc and update that,it gives google a reason to be interested in your site without affecting the home page.Add pics of work in progress with a job etc,a testimonial page. These are basic seo actions but they make a difference.I prefer not to touch the listing itself once I'm done e.g get your listing right the first time by adding pics, video, etc.Changing stuff at a later date can affect your listings placing alot,I prefer not taking that chance. Also add a video to youtube with your business name ,address and tel no (as these details are in your listing) and place the info in the description of the video.
