Google Place case study in real time

Animoto is pretty sweet. I have looked at it before, but like in most cases I see the "plans & pricing" link and I'm outta there with a quickness. Come to see that animoto is free for 30 second videos. Thanks ardavidr.

Update. I haven't quit on this, not completely anyways. I've done all that I could and the GP listing is not even in the top 20. Getting a bunch of citations used to work in the past but that's not all it takes anymore. Since it's only showing a 3 box, it's going to be damn near impossible to get in there so the hell with it. I'm going to work on ranking his website now that it's out of the sandbox.



That image shows the site is ranked at 16 today. 4 days ago I sent over 1700 retweets to it and 2 days ago I dumped 450 G+1's on it to let Big G know the site is getting some social love, to get it warmed up before I blast it with some serious link juice. Today it moved up 1 spot so maybe the social signals do work. I've ordered a link wheel gig that will be delivered in a couple of days. I won't doing any other backlinking in the meantime so that I can see how effective the link wheel is.

I'm doing similiar tactics to my 2 cleaning sites. I've got a customer testimonial video on the bottom of the first page by using this gig at the end of May. I'm looking for another gig to use on the video to see if I can get it to rank higher so if anyone has any suggestions please share. Please only share if you have actually used the gig yourself.

Hey dude did you add NAP with link to site in the description box of the vids? If not do that and there is a gig that builds custom maps which helps.

No NAP but has link to website in description. I'm not familiar with custom maps but I thought to rank a video in G serps, all you need is blast it with a load of backlinks.

Think I'll wind this thread down since it's not going to be about GP anymore. I'll post the results of the link wheel on another thread.

Have you guys seen the new 360 degree views that are being put into Google places, I just started working for another advertising agency doing all their craigslist postings. THis is Badass check it out type in Santa Monica fiat. The guy is charging booko $$ for it too.

Damn sorry to hear all your hard work and progress didnt pay off. I am currently working on a dentist in Washington to try and get his Google listing high up on the list. There is a dentist that is killing it on the listing for every keyword. Is whitespark a great place to find out how he is doing it all? Also did you see any rise after creating all the citations? My dentist keyword + city only gets 140 exact matches a month so I dont think its that hard to rank. Any new suggestions out there since Google+ Local is in effect now?

Whitespark will show you the citations that the top listings have, so you can get those that you don't have. Yes, after doing the citations the listing will move up a bunch. But citations are not the only thing that matters anymore. You have to also do all the other stuff that G wants now.

So other the other stuff that big G wants, would that be like releasing an article, adding backlinks through blogs?
