Google Penguin 4.0 - it looks like it is here!

Looks like it was just a core ranking update guys -- it's not penguin just yet. Check out SER for more info.

Haven't seen anything yet from my sites...

Core Ranking Update - Not Penguin:

I would expect Penguin to follow in next couple of weeks.

Just because they said it's a core update and not Penguin does not mean that's actually true. What is a core update anyways? Them being so vague about this is anything but unintententional.

Strange I had a small BH site that was ranking #5 for my targeted keyword, but everything else was #40 and worse. I really didn't do much to the site, it's not a very competitive niche. But it went from ranking #5 to not in top 500.

Acording to searc engine roundtable and John Muller is a core alco change and not a Penguin
Its not Penguin

After all these official pre-announcements about Penguin being realtime and similar I highly doubt Google would disguise Penguin as a core update. They aren't the masters of transparency for sure, but something as newsworthy as their most controversial webspam algorithm would be confirmed for sure.

Keyword moves #19 to #8
Trying to Rank a medium competition keyword with 1.5k search result, placed 1 wikipedia link, 10 web2.0's 3 month ago now the site is sitting in 8th position(checked 3 days ago). Hope it would go higher ;)

I was kind of hoping that this was the penguin update as all my sites remained unaffected. Looks like it was just a core update.

I'll hold my breath for the next Penguin

To be specific today (and the rumblings over the last week perhaps) are because the core algo has been updated to CONTAIN Panda rolling out. Yes, Panda is now integrated INTO the core algo.

https://www.seroundtable.com/google-panda-core-ranking-algorithm-21465.html

As per Google's policy of never confirming a core algo update you can now expect to rarely, if ever, hearing about Panda updates. However since it is integrated with the new AI you can expect it to be closer to "Panda Live" though apparently some parts of this new Panda could still be manual updates. Time will tell where they go with it.

And one last FYI: As this is a launch, expect flotations for a while and don't expect to keep your gains/losses long term until shit stabilizes and this puppy has hit all of your competition fully as well as you. So stop shitting your pants and calm down. Your site as well as your PBNs will be effected by Panda's on-site judgments, but so will your competitors. So my guess it most people will take a while to see where they finally land after this is stabilized and "done" for now.

Half my sites dropped the other half went slightly up...But is it penguine 4.0 or the massive PR's i've been shooting off?

the post from barry at Seroundtable ,there is a debate that this is not a 100% accurate yet its just a theory..

but if i will recall and look more broadly on what happening since Jan 8 up to now, its seems there is more than on this not just a panda, when algoroo quote it as a search quality update seems legit for me, panda, quality update and more on to this is what i speculate. it seems they just update the Algo core and it become upgraded or more sensitive than before thats why it looks like panda or other panda hit site are recovering.

So in short this is just yet another Google Algo update which means they upgrade their ranking signals and filter more signals to be fitted as a low quality site.

so just hold on Google Penguin 4.0 is still coming and yet another big update will happen very soon

So with a push of a button, spam sites came back alive, and good sites got tanked, while some niches faces the other way around, and this happens because they [still] can't bloody hell decide what's white and black. Ahh...

Now those rankings came back. But I have a feeling when Penguin rolls out it may be hit again.

1.
At every door-way,
ere one enters,
one should spy round,
one should pry round
for uncertain is the witting
that there be no foeman sitting,
within, before one on the floor

63.
Each man who is wise and would wise be called
must ask and answer aright.
Let one know thy secret, but never a second, --
if three a thousand shall know.

65.
Each man should be watchful and wary in speech,
and slow to put faith in a friend.
for the words which one to another speaks
he may win reward of ill.

Havamal, Snorri Sturleson, circa 1345

Epic!.
P.S. nice share! In what was described, got similar results with new sites and methods described, compared to older sites, but with normal, unique useful content.
To be honest at a smaller scales only.
P.s. on sunday got 1 worpress.com blog deindexed(built 15.12.23), left building spam till now, yesterday domain got indexed and ranking page 1;).

Very curious how G will look this year if they are seeking realtime pandas..etc algorythms..
It looks like they are seeking to sabotage pbn owners by googledancing and then comparing with disavow activity by specific webmasters...;). I guess i sound a litle bit paranoid...;)

Nobody saw the red bar today ?
check algoroo.com

How did it affect you ?
