I guess federal governments should disallow companies to be extremely successful at what they do.

Yes, I "love" Google as much as any marketeer does, but they are successful at what they do and there is a good reason for that. People chose to use their search engine every day, it is not mandatory. If a user doesn't like them, they can turn to the numerous good alternatives.

As long as they don't engage in weird activities (like Microsoft has in the past) I don't care about them being huge and successful. I am from Europe, where we love our EU anti-trust laws that have struck monopolies several times in the past.

After all in the end the only people who care about PR is internet marketeers, not the final users that search for websites!

Full disclosure: 80% of my traffic is from google, however I would gladly give up a quarter of that if there were 3 or 4 other search engines around providing equal amounts of traffic.

Regarding anti trust laws:
Those are just a handful on the first page when I search [google antitrust suit] on google.com

There's a reason why China didn't want google there

1. because they are owned by the C|A to spy on us and they wanted to do the same with the Chinese. The Chinese ain't stupid.
