It appears as though Google has either intentionally or unintentionally reset every website's pagerank (pr) to 0. If intentionally, this will be a huge impact on the industry of SEO and how it operates. Many webmasters sell links primarily based on their PR, and if PR is now removed, we can effecitvely say "Goodbye" to a standard SEO metric.

Please. If google would be getting rid of PR they would have announced it, or at least something hinting towards it. Sites aren't PR 0, they are N/A: there is a difference.

probably a tweak on an update. has happened in the past with other algorithm changes.

Not sure what tools y'all are using but my google toolbar still shows pr. Google 10/10... Facebook 10/10... BHW 4/10.

Probably just a glitch.

hmmm. I'm getting the same error with a firefox seo plugin. Shows all pages (facebook, etc.) as unranked.. Thats weird as f

Interesting. If they do decide to make it blind (I'm pretty sure they will still have it, just secret to them only) then it's going to really change things up in SEO. We'll be back to link-building by guesswork :|

SEOmoz authority rank is a more accurate metric than PR in regards to a pages backlinking power, hopefully that takes the drivers seat.

Anyone who knows what they are doing will look at that number more closely than PR. Anyone who is saying paid links are dead is an idiot, because the PR number associated with domains is N/A doesn't mean pages stop passing juice. Otherwise the Internet really would implode as some posters have stated!

So now there are 3 possibilities

1. google did reset all pr
2. google dropped pr algorithm completely.
3. this is temporary server downtime

option 3 never happened before on such scale.
option 1 makes no sense.
option 2 looks more logical as they have already stated tons of time that pr algo is dropped. but they were still showing pr in toolbar. though it was just number but it used to ease out the process of finding and building quality links.
This is going to bring huge changes in link acquisition and seo industry. Many people are going to lose their earnings specially link sellers. i buy tons of paid links for my sites and have ranked crazy in short time. all those links are now pr n/a. though i m not worried and i will continue with those links because only PR stopped showing but that sites backlinks, authority and my links are same. and i have not lost any rankings in any updates so far.
on contrary if google really dropped PR concept even from display, some new standard like moz rank or link count will emerge.

I second that. SEOMoz's metrics are pretty much accurate than the toolbar PR itself. Do not worry people, the juice will still keep flowing as ever.
