Google will now alert you if pages of your site are duplicated on other domains (and the other domain is ranking): http://tDOTco/u (replace DOT with a period).

This comes from Vanessa Fox, former Google employee. I think she was in charge of indexing Websites at Google. I've always liked and respected her and certainly keep her on my "friends" list at Facebook.
At any rate, this news should shed some important light on the big debate of duplicate content and to scrape or not to scrape.
I will ask her if Google will also know if content is spun and get back to you.
