Google news site with shopify store on subdomain

Hey,
I am going to make a google news website (will apply to Google news after making enough posts)

thing is, the domain I am going to be using already has a shopify store on shop (.) domain . com

would it be a problem in getting the approval? I am an avid reader of news in this niche and my store is already made on Shopify

once I get views on the news site I plan to get them to the store. I’ll also be promoting the store elsewhere

can this work? I plan not to link the store anywhere on the news (main site) until getting approved.

is this possible or should I have store on a different domain and the news site on a different one?

Yes, this shouldn't be a problem,
all the subdomains and root domain are treated as separate entities

Just try to create really good content and be consistent. DO NOT STOP PUTTING UP CONTENT your readers will love is the key.

wordpress is okay for putting out news articles or do we need a different schema for news?

WP can handle the work just by adding some SEO plugin like Rank Math,
Do include both news sitemap and schema
