Google Just Made Bing the Best Search Engine

Step 1: Log out of G account
Step 2: Continue searching as normal
Step 3: Profit??????????????

haha yep! It's annoying as hell that we have to do that but "whatevs". Google will switch their algos soon enough anyway, they always do. We just have to keep on keepin on.

Well personally i use duckduckgo as a default for my chromium browser which has SSL encryption and also better results blocking spam results. This is what i use most of the time for my research projects and all.

I use Google only for SEO or finding pirated apps, music and such. :D

and its really easy to switch between search engines on chromium browsers. so using any search engine is just a keyword away. If you don't know how to customize your search engines on Chrome, try this

wait till icream sammich is released..
goog+ will be so heavily integrated

loogout

Thats a shame ... They removed the realtime/latest option from the filter some time ago too, man that was useful :(

I also don't like Google going through my email and telling me who to add on G+.

And they say Facebook has privacy issues.

Nerds can't launch products. That + thing can fuck right off, and that fatty matt cutts, what a tool!

so he doesn't want to make an extra click to change the settings in google but he will go in his browser settings? that's like 5 extra clicks?

Yeah yeah, Google is evil. And it directly or indirectly pays SEOs 30 to 50 times more than bing ever will.

Making bing as your default search engine doesn't accomplish anything when you're a SEO. If you're into SEO -- where stuff ranks in Google matters. Where stuff ranks in Bing doesn't matter.

If Google personalization bugs you, log out. Takes 1 click. Do your searches while logged out. In fact, if you're really a SEO -- you have to do this anyways, because the real results you need will get skewed if you're logged in.

Although it might be shit to people doing the searching, its great news for people providing content. Just get yourself 300 G+ accounts and start voting up all your websites.

As I already said, after "Search plus your world" its not just a matter of signing in/out... there are 56 other factors that Google admit they use to provide personalized results :/

For this logged-off case,
how do you know Bing is not doing the same?

I'm trying to come up with an analysis of the new situation for myself, but having trouble doing so.

Prior to this, if you were ranked #1 and your competitor #30, then that's how it was. Now, if the competitor has 2 +1's in that particular search user's circles BAM they're #1.

But it's not just who has the most +1's. If you have a single +1 in your circles that obviously weighs in way more than thousands of junk +1's. So the new "page rank" in social linking is actually getting into users' circles. Building fake accounts and +1'ing yourself doesn't do shit for your rankings, it just looks nice to users seeing that thousands +1'ed you. But I also see blogger 'sharing' weighs heavily, 'sharing' (I don't ever go on google+, is that just +1'ing?) weighs heavily. And, it still looks like the natural results play in. As in a single 'in circle' +1 for who would've been #1 in natural results seems like it weighs more heavily than two 'in circle' +1's for who would've been #30?

We've got a whole new game complete with a whole new algorithm here, but yet it only effects google+ users for these particular cases.

Isn't Bing Microsoft? funny how the wheels turn.. Big G seems to be the bad boy these days.. It will turn again, someone else will get their day in the sun.

Microsoft have basically grown up I think.

Remember when they were seen as "bad boys" they werent that old, 10-15 years, now its a 30yr old company and have lots of experience of what works and what doesnt.

The oldest net companies at best are like 15 years old, and still have some growing up to do...they are just teenies and we know what a pain in the ass teenies can be!

I must admit, I have not changed to Bing yet, but I'm considering it, I searched on G yesterday for one of my interests, and so much social garbage and shit came up it was unreal.

I go to Google to search, because it's a search engine, not to see the same shit I just saw that my dickhead friends have posted on their BORING Google+ profiles!

They really are fucking themselves with all these changes, the thing with google is, they keep telling us SEO's to do what's best for our site users... but they don't consider their users at all, their 'experts' just come up with stupid ideas.

The promotion of Google+ is getting desperate, it's a boring social network for webmasters, GET OVER IT GOOGLE!! Go back to being the best search engine, you suck at social stuff.

I personally love Bing for exactly this reason
