Google hates my site...can't understand why

My domain is about two years old.

Lots of content.

Keep adding unique content.

Have plenty of backlinks from various sites including facebook, youtube, article sites, blogs, etc...

No google visits...at all.

For all the keywords I am concentrating on my site is maybe only within 400 google search.

Now here's the funny thing - I know sites similar to mine that are doing the exact same thing, have less backlinks, similar amount of unique content, similar amount of article backlinks and the same keywords and are about 4 old.

YET THEY RANK ON THE SECOND AND EVEN FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE!

How the f*** is this possible?

The funny thing? Since I started adding more unique content to my site recently and upgraded it (made it look better and improved some seo stuff), the Google rankings have actually DROPPED! It's also not google dance since it's been for a while!

They were awful to begin with but now there are hardly any.

I am being kept said "Just add more unique content and build dem backlinks!" But it's really hard to do this when you see that the Google actually punishes your site for this.

I keep getting visitors from Yahoo under the same keywords.

The site isn't blacklisted because I can find it, but it just ranks very, very badly.

It's just as if Google hating me for something and subtly was telling me "You will NEVER get this site ranking, so just give up".

I'm seriously clueless on what to do. Other sites that I haven't touched for many, many months in this same niche get more natural visits from Google. The only traffic I get from google are from shit Google images that is worth nothing. And it's maybe a few visits a day. I get around total 100 visits a day.

you better try auto blogging...Just read the stuffs here... After months of struggle, I am finally earning money from it. Give it a try though...

I have been doing autoblogs for a while now and they aren't earning me more than 1$ a month.

I had an autoblog running for this site as well but it Google didn't really love it even back then. Yet I did get a few more visits.

At least not for Clickbank product. And this is a Clickbank product. Also - surprise, no sales in 5 months. Remember, it gets 100 visits a day.

I am so frustrated. It's like the site was cursed. I can't physically find any reason it should not be receiving traffic and I don't really know if any people here will be able to help me. I had an experienced internet marketer help me. I improved my site as he said. Did all optimization for SEO, changed theme, adding unique content and keep adding it. Yet google did a bounce and dropped the site in rankings. For all keywords I focus on, my site is like 400 on Google. The site is PR2.

can you tell me more about what cms you are using? wordpress?
and do you target your posts on one keyword?? and do your backlinks focus on that keyword too?
another big thing is, how is your bounce rate? i use statcounter to check how long they stay on my websites. Because sometimes when your holding time is very bad, google just drops your website. I had this too with a website.
I outsourced articles by some indian guy, and i could get ranked high on a micro niche. after 6 months i found out that 90% of the visitors where leaving my site within 5 seconds. just pm me your website and i shall take a quick look.

Yes, my backlinks are for the specific keyword and posts vary but mostly stick on one keyword as well. I don't want to be too strict since Google might find that suspicious, so I try to focus on 1 - 3 keywords, one being the general one.

I will have to install Analytics to see how fast are people leaving. Currently, I am using Statpress.

Content is bullshit in terms of ranking. Lemme explain:

The THEORY put forth by Google is you keep adding content, people love it, they tell two friends, and they tell two friends...and then MAYBE somebody links to you...and then it cascades from there. Google would love to have the Internet operate like this. This DOES work if you are an authority site and you've got enough traffic on a regular basis and you've reached critical mass for it to sustain itself. Do you have hundreds of people a day coming to your site, blogging about you? No.

As in real life, there are two different sets of laws of physics when it comes to the tiny and the large. The thing that matters most when your small is back links. As long as you have the minimal amount of content, adding more does nothing for SERPs. I've got a large authority site that sits at #3 on Google for my keyword and I haven't updated it month. Still at #3. I've also built dozens of tiny niche sites that are ranking #1, haven't added anything since I've built them. Still there.

Get more back links. Period.

Analytics really does help with figuring out your traffic... for a zero-cost solution it's so much incredibly better than anything else, and after just a little bit of practice you start to see things you missed before with it.

Right...then maybe you would explain why when I first got more backlinks, the rankings dropped? Then I got even more and more and the rankings did not increase ONE BIT! I was linking from articles, comments and lots of other places.

Now...my competitors - the sites on first page...don't have more backlinks than me. Most of them have less. So obviously, it's not a backlink issue.

Domain has good age. I've told before. Sites that are much newer rank better than me.

Backlinks are from good sites. I've even have had wikipedia backlinks for a while.

Like I said...do MORE back links. Plenty don't stick. I have no idea why Google likes or ignores certain links. And how long did you wait? Hopefully it was weeks. Watching your daily position will drive anyone nuts.

What about your domain name? Match your keyword? How about your competitor? .info domain? (They suck if you've got competition)

If your gettin' bitchy about your SERP over something like this, then your gonna be screwed in the long run. Think rising tides...not water squirting out of garden hose pointed in a certain direction.

If you don't let us know your site is bit difficult....
If you are using ANY kind of 30* redirection, cloak linking, etc, Google and Yahoo will punish (altough not blacklisting) your website, believe me, because they did to one past website of mine.
Your website is not blacklisted, or at least I suppose not (because of your PR2).
Other possibility is that you blocked GoogleBot and Slurp in your robots.txt, copy and paste here that file if you got one, one time ago, I misconfigured that file and my site dissapeared from Google and Yahoo.

Sites with around 300-400 links stay on the first page, so for this niche - yes it's plenty. I got over 1k. I understand I could not be on first page, but I'm on 40th.

I understand from what you are saying that what happens to your site is absolutly abnormal. I have a website that is PR 3 with 13 backlinks, only geting traffic from google, no unique content, warez site- not ranking high because it is a VERY competitive market.
So your site is on site SEO optimized, the domain is a .com, constantly adding content, building backlinks.
My advice- check how often google bot visits your site
-use pinging devices
-try to concentrate on high PR 3+ backlinks not necesarly related to your niche
-all the traffic comes from yahoo?

You might be facing the OOP (known as the Over Optimization Penalty). Make sure you're not keyword stuffing in the title, or anywhere in your page(s), especially in h1 tags and stuff.

Second, domain age isn't the only important thing. Domain future (is that even a term?) is important too. Like whether your domain expires in 1 year vs expires in 10 years is important. Several SEO sources are now reporting that this is a factor being used by Google.

If you are being hosted by a shared hosting server, other blacklisted sites might have gotten your entire I.P. address blacklisted. See if you can talk to your host about getting your C-class IP address changed.

Otherwise, I can't think of much! Try acquiring a couple PR 6 and PR 7 backlinks. And some .edu .mil. or .gov.

I have a PR 7 .com backlink and a PR 5 .edu backlink and one of my sites is doing very very very well in SERPs for a moderately competitive keyword (it is PR 4 currently). A few good quality backlinks will do wonders for your site. FYI, the rest of the backlinks are shit, coming mostly from PR 0, PR 1, and PR N/A sites. About 7,500 inbound backlinks. Domain is only 3 years old, but I have it registered until year 2020.

This is very very hard to belive- I mean how many websites have hosting for 10 years
And what if an autority site is aproaching its hosting deadline- will its rankings drop
ABSURDE!!!!!

I have been through this before. To this day it's beyond me why they picked on that particular site of mine and it never recovered, no matter how many links I built or how hard I tried.

Luckily the other two major SEs picked up the site and it's getting decent traffic nowadays from those two and a few other sites, but only a few visits a month from Google. Weird. I heard many others experienced the same thing. Sometimes the sites came back up on Google, sometimes they never recovered.

One thing you can do (if you haven't done it already) is to add it to the G Webmasters Tools and submit a request to them to reconsider your site. I did that twice it helped both times but then the site faded out again. Maybe yours will stick.

you must have a good ratio of pages and links. unique content doesn't guarantee the usefulness of your site. let me ask you? how do you define unique content? is the definition of unique content is rewriting people's articles and get 50% uniqueness? if that's your definition, then it doesn't matter how much content you put on your site.

let's talk about backlink. i'm not telling you shit here. so, whether you want to listen to me or not, it's up to you. if you have many backlinks from comments, that's a red flag to google. if you have many spun articles that give your site links, that's a red flag to google.

this is a tough subject. but, how you link to your site matters. how you organize internal links matters.

if you really want to get seo benefit, you should optimize internal links first. many people say get external backlinks, get external backlinks..

while not declining that advice, the way you interlink your site's pages will seriously boost the power of you site. those external links will become superchargers.

i wish i could explain more.

summary:
good internal links (give more links to your important pages, ratio 1:2:10, the most important page, 2 2nd level important pages, 10 unimportant pages. unimportant pages give links to 2nd level important pages, 2nd level important pages give links to the most important page)

external links (give quality links to your most important and 2nd level important pages. give shit links to your site's shields. send links from those shield to your unimportant pages)

content (forget keyword density, seriously. just make sure to put the keyword that you want to rank in title)
