"I know this sounds like old news, but I still come across people who are still trying hard on EMDs.
Well, a couple of weeks ago, my website—which has a brand name totally different from its domain name—started rising rapidly in the SERPs.
Today, I noticed it's achieving a 100% CTR, outperforming other domains that have the keyword in their domain name."
Even if Google still using this factor, I'm sure it's something like 0.01% effect on the SERP.

Dude why use quotation marks, are you referencing someone else?

And what's the fuss here? You're angry your site is getting high ranking?

^^ The quotation is because Ai sht i tried to fix my OP grammars, I didn't notice it when I post it.

Because I hate Google and I don't believe their B.S about anything, so I swear whenever I mention Google in any post I made.

Understood, anyway there's life beyond Google so go for it.
 
I've tried EMD with sub-domain and it outranked brand mentions.
I've one more site regarding "keyword reviews" filled with affiliate offers and I've a keyword.TLD the EMD domain which ranks quite higher than bluehost, godaddy, hostinger and other top brands in google and even in SERPs. It seems Google doesn't give fk to some niches while rewards others!
 
Bing still ranks EMDs. I've seen a few new domains ranking very well in Google because they're EMDs. So, some domains are still working. I guess we need to look at other factors like user engagement and relevance.
 
Technically speaking, EMDs stopped carrying standalone weight after the 2012 update.
What still matters is brand/query alignment.

If users search your domain name plus the topic, Google treats that as a branded signal, not an EMD boost.

In current SERPs, relevance is mostly determined by content–intent match and link context, not domain text. An EMD with weak topical signals won’t outperform a branded domain with strong link equity and behavioral metrics.

person now has to take down the .io verison
 
Yesterday i was doing research on 1 Services Category and found 1 new website only 4 months old is ranking in top 5th Spots, domain was EMD . The Search Volume of those Money keywords is Low 300 to 500, This new sites total Traffic on Ahref Showing 400 and ranking on top most relevant money keywords and rest of all Sites have high DA, then i found few more keywords and got one availabel EMD SV is only 200 but Money keyword, So do you think Google did not give a even 10% Waitage to these EMD domains or it depends on Category and Should i buy this and Try and see what works or Not ?
