So Google has officially launched Google Domains, their own domain registrar to compete with GoDaddy, NameCheap, etc. One of their big selling points is free domain privacy registration. Does anybody else get the irony here? So the only company that will have the owner's information... will be the one company that everybody is trying to hide that information from. SMH

haha lol@Privacy ^_^

"Google reported net profits of $12,920,000,000 in 2013"
I guess is not enough

I wouldn't hesitate to use Google domains. Just don't use it for anything that isn't high quality. Google has a long history of giving preferential treatment to their own, so if you run a site/PBN/whatever off their domain they might just treat it better, not worse. Shit, worst case scenario I bet they get indexed FAST.

If Google hates dropped domains then I bet they love the ones they themselves sell. Somebody should do a test to see how long they sandbox their own new domains.

This will likely make them a killing. The newbie webmaster will choose Google over everything as it feels "safe"

I think it's fine if they offer REALLY competitive pricing. It's not like you would use them for any type of PBN or anything anyway, you would most likely just use it for money sites.

Like ThopHayt says, they might give you preferential treatment if it's a high quality site.

Whether you buy from Google or other domain registrars, Google would still have access to your WHOIS information since they sell domain names too. And the purpose of WHOIS privacy is to hide your information from competitors and spammers, not from Google.

Watch out. Next they will tell everybody that they will give a "slight" ranking boost to those domains registered trough them.

..."Matt Cutt's suggested that private Whois data can be combined with other factors as a negative signal."...just google being google again. Pathetic.

It will be good to use those domains for redirects/PPC landing pages, etc... anything that does not involve PBN-s, money sites or something blackhat we always try to hide from Google. Of course that is if they offer competitive pricing which I am sure they will, at least in the beginning to gain more recognition. And they surely have the budget to afford losses at first lol.
