Google DMCA Counter-Notice: Risks of Using Incorrect Info?

Hi!

I run a website in the adult industry and recently got many Google DMCA notices targeting tag pages.

If it were specific content pages, I’d understand, but tag pages (e.g. "blonde") only list content, some possibly copyrighted but not necessarily. I also host legitimate material.

I think these are not valid DMCA notices (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Now, if I submit a counter-notice, they require my legal name and personal info, and I must certify everything under penalty of perjury. I don’t want my data sent to the complainant, IDK what they'll do with it, maybe threaten me, etc.

Has anyone dealt with this using false info in the form? What risks come with that?

Is there any legal way to counter these notices without exposing my personal data?

I doubt these are even legit complaints. A DMCA takedown requires the complainant to identify specific infringing material.
If you don't want to give away your identity, hire an attorney and route your communication through them.

I go through this too, but there’s no point in sending a counter-notification because they’re going to keep reporting. Since Google doesn’t require anything from the person who reports, it’s easy to take down several pages in a single day, and it takes ten days for them to come back.

DMCA claims on tag pages are often weak, so instead of submitting false info, use a business entity or attorney to protect your identity
