Google displays the wrong TITLE

Hello,


Basically our YOAST TITLE settings has this TITLE format: Keyword + Niche title | Company name but it did not show that way in Google. On search it was showed:

Company name : Keyword + Niche title (notice that colon symbol)


So yes, we followed everything listed on this link https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en , we rewrite, update and check the codes but yet no good.


Can someone here provide us a tip please on how we can make it appear like this Keyword + Niche | Company name instead of Company name : Keyword + Niche title


Also, do you think this could also be a theme issue or are we missing a step? We are using Wordpress BeTheme theme.


I do appreciate if someone here could give me a detailed answer rather than pointing us to a resource. Or, if you point us to a resource link I hope that will be the right solution so we can follow.

This is likely the way it is setup within the settings of your theme. The yoast may not be able to override that particular setting, so a good step would be to go to your wp-admin -> Appearance -> Theme Options, and look and see what it says there. I believe if you match this to your yoast settings you can resolve this issue within a few days. Could be faster, but G still has to correct the error by re-crawling the blog a bit.
 
Hey, check the source of your page and see meta title and see what it is showing?

If it is showing like in google, that means the theme is overriding the title.
 
Have you recently changed your wordpress title, if so Googles bot indexed when it was changed, soon they will update.

If not, it might be something to do with your plugins or theme then. Try to Uninstall all the plugins and go back to original theme - change the name of the website and see if you activated everything again.

Download SEOquake to your chrome and check where is the title that actually went wrong and edit it and wait for reindexed.

Another thing could be sometime google dont show exact title that you put in title meta. Instead it shows most relevant title that match to your page and that is totally depending on on-page of your website including content, meta, h1 & Internal linking. So in case you have already placed title and still its not showing correctly in google, you can not do anything for that. Just make sure your onpage is correct. Just my past experience..
 
I think there is something not common with your language and Google.
You have to find that issue to solve the problem. You can use Google for getting the actual problem.
 
easy fix check your under your bethemes options --->SEO --->General and set "Use built-in field" setting to off. then also check under your wordpress settings----> General and make sure you remove the site title if you are using Yoast.
 
jfc the advice on this forum is so epic terrible.

Google will rewrite a title based on user search phrases. What you just listed as your title could be seen as spammy, and the algorithms will rewrite titles for several different reasons. One reason is when the title itself is picked up as keyword stuffed and not useful to users. Google will then rewrite the title to suit the user's search.

This is assuming that you didn't fuck up your titles and need to wait for a recrawl. Some idiot SEOs fuck up their titles, change them, and then are too stupid to understand that crawlers must recrawl a site before changes take effect. Like DUH.



So, basically, you own your site but you don't own the search results. Google will show what it feels is good for users. What webmasters do with their site is just a suggestion to the algorithms.
 
I've this guys,... the answer if often that A) Your titles are probably too long and B) Your titles are not unique enough between your pages. Short titles get used more reliably in my tests than long spammy ones. And making sure that all the titles aren't too similar to each other also increased Google's usage for me.

Write a shorter, more unique title and see if it doesn't help.

I recommend to install SeoQuake, so check what the title is bad. and change greetings friend
