    Hi All,

I have a site that ranks pos. 3 on page 1 when i type in the keyword pharse into google.com
But.... when i type in the same keyword phrase in to google.co.uk and way back on page 3, even though it is a .co.uk domain?

I am using wordpress, and use the usual all in one seo plugin and XML sitemaps.

Can someone please shed a bit of light as to how I can get my site to rank on google.co.uk

it's Because Google have network of almost all countries Domain name sites so those gives Local related results first.

.co.uk Domain it will get priority in Google UK instead of Google.com

The other competing sites may have a few more backlinks from UK domains so gain more UK authority, have a look through their backlinks and try and get a few the same, might help boost you up.

If you're searching for cars in the UK, wouldn't you want your search engine to give you results based in the UK rather than results based in Detroit?

Google Webmaster Tools gives you also a choice to localize your website. You can change your target market over there.
Otherwise, it is mainly the links and the traffic origin which determine how you rank globally and locally.

Can anyone elaborate a bit more on this matter? I rank alright on .com but on co.uk I am always a couple of positions behind. How do you bring the co.uk ranks up? And is there a BST on BHW that can help with that?

Still searching for the key solution to my original question....

My client is in the UK, the domain i register is a .co.uk

Most of their customers will be using google.co.uk so I NEED the site i created for them to rank way up on 1st page on google.co.uk

the weird thing is, is that it does rank well when using google.com but not so well on google.co.uk ??? WTF !!

I just dont know why this is..

Any advice is very much appreciated....

may be because most of backlinks are coming from .com , get some .co.uk backlinks and you can localize your site from web master tools as well :)

Google always give proiorities to the local sites.
They will first take the local sites then they will consider the other ones.
    This is that much simple.

    - Host site in UK, or set location in Google Webmaster Tools.
    - Look at Off/On page SEO.

    Difference between Google.com and Google.co.uk:

    * Google.com and Google.co.uk are practically same with the only difference being a preference towards area specific sites.
    * It is a practice indulged in by Google to provide better services to its users.
    * Google.com has a suffix .com that denotes commercial version whereas Google.co.uk has a suffix uk that denotes that the user is in UK. For every country there is a specific suffix that is added at the end of Google.com
