Yes, but i guess its a temprory glitch and cache command can work soon.

it basically shows the latest version of the page and the last time it was cached (crawled),

for me, i do often use it with pbn websites, i know how often the website & its are being crawled without any use of tracking services,
it's a good sign if the website hompeage is having a cached version every day or couple of days, it means it's getting enough attention from g,
also, while picking up expired/auction domains, it could be no indexed, but being cached gives a good sign that the website/domain is still fresh,
it has other usage for indexing services, cloacking pages, etc...

Thats annoying, it was a an easy public way to check if your posts had been indexed yet. I tried asking gemini.....lol

yup, the same stuff with medium and similar websites jailbreakers,
i doubt waybackmachine will have the content for most of them, so that's another feature gone as well

I remember G said to remove cache long ago and auto-point to wayback machine.
It is not a glitch.

It is another bye-bye product from G.
 
Yeah, it's really sad because Google Cache was an amazing tool to reverse-engineer content that works on certain target sites.

It also enabled people who know what they're doing to figure out the relationship between successful pages and less successful pages.

So, RIP Google Cache.
