Google Broad Core Update December 2020

I also think something is going on now.
Some of you might remember me doing a test on reddit d0follow backlinks. The results were good and 5 keywords improved, but then around the new year they tanked... guess what? today (just checked), they are back with a bang.
I don't believe it's another update...

how can you not think it's an update? sites are moving all over the place. It isn't a core update but google are certainly having an update of something

now, here is something strange. not sure if anyone follows Barry at SERoundtable, but he mentioned an update last week/weekend and then another one maybe tuesday.
as i posted in the post above about last friday I started seeing drops, some huge drops in SERPS. Oddly some hardly moved but most tanked but some kept bouncing back randomly and then tanking again. By Monday though most keywords had returned to normal and stayed pretty solid apart from the usual small flux of a place of so. Then come yesterday, same thing has started all over again. Some KW's tanked, recheck back to normal, check 5 minutes later, tanked again. I'm using a clean browser with no history etc. Anyone else seen anything like this, it's almost like there are 2 sets of SERPs and one has a bug of some sort (i hope it's a bug)
 
What u are seeing is no bug....G search implemented the youtube style of delivery of search results....I also tested and concluded that location plays a big rule in search results delivery.....much grater ghan before

This update will do the sites traffic down and after a month all will be normal.
 
Something it's happening again.
I am seeing volatility on my projects.
 
SEMRush sensor is showing 6.1 (high range). I've checked my sites and no impact at the moment. I guess I'll stick the wooden spoon in my mouth, bend over and wait for google. Standard procedure since May last year.
 
honestly still seeing crazy ranking, couple of keywords haven't moved at all, some completely vanished, some dropped down and then returned. just odd, can't make any sense of it at all. using a clean browser and vpn as well so true rankings and also match in search console

I think with the final update they have fixed everything. Your website will be back in normal condition in next couple of weeks.

I am still all over the place across the board. Up, down, down, up, up, down. My ex was more stable than this.

One of my main kwds 2 days ago was on third page, yesterday was on 20th page and today is on 5th page...wtf

pretty much what I'm seeing, for the EMD phrase on page 2-3, then bombs down to page 7 for a bit, then back, then goes again, currently on page 6 but was on 3 earlier. One phrase hasn't budged at all. It's as if there are 2 sets of results, doesn't make sense at all
 
Has anyone seen anything over this weekend? I have 2 sites, 1 recovered with the December core update, and 1 got hit. I'm now seeing a complete reversal over the weekend for the sites, the recovered one has been hit hard and the one that got hit has returned to pre-December rankings. The one that got hit again is a really strange one, the dreaded filter is really smashing it down, it's actively pushing it down for some reason, 1 KW went from page 5-6 to page 14, most others phrases have dropped 3-6 pages
 
I see some position movements since Sunday. Some positions going up and some are going down. Looks like another random update is on its way.
 
Apparently there is another update, I lost more than 70% of my traffic since Sunday.
 
Slight recovery from two sites hit in Dec since mid last week. One of them is nearly back to where it was but the other is still 50% down. Better than the 70% down early dec
 
Yes, I expected people to write now. My main website is dancing like crazy. Down 40 keywords on Sunday - up 40 keywords today, totally random.

My traffic yesterday actually went up a good 30% compared to the past month. Not sure how today is going to go, but yesterday was more comparable to pre-January update. I actually have been busy so I have done few changes in the past 5-6 weeks on this one site.
