Google Broad Core Update December 2020

traffic.JPG

2-3 days ago I was happy... but then...
its just sad :(

Slammed in May (-50%)

Did a bit of work around content / structure / speed (much more work to go, though!) and got some excellent white hat links (no SEO effort; they just decided to link to us)

Partial recovery on 4th Dec

Recovery holding so far (+42% WoW) *crosses all the appendages*

I hope it won't happen to me LOL

I have the exact opposite view compering to yours. I was sad on 4 Dec. Now, it is recovering and is back on SERPs as my main keyword was thrown away. Now I am on page 5 (better than nothing)

This is us... Although the semrush sensor reported activity last Friday? We saw the dip start to happen on the Monday (we put it down to seasonal traffic - which does have a small impact on us) but figure it's more of a 5-7 day roll out much like @bartosimpsonio has said in the past..

Our average position has taken dive as well but that's OK it's no where near as bad as last Friday!

The update just accelerated the clear decline of your site... so far I think they have simply refined their BERT algo, some of my best sites have improved since they provide way better content that the ones that were already top ranking, regardles of the EAT.

Decline?
LOL

You don't even know what my site is... Why because the last 3 months are when my niche becomes traditionally "quiet" so yes will be a drop.

I can't understand one thing about this update: how can be possible that websites with keywords stuffing and exact match on link building over 60% are now up to 30, 40 positions and websites without E-A-T on health topics are back on TOP 3 Google...:confused:

Another day and more decline. Yesterday was bad!!! Today is even lower. Google buried me!
My site is following the exact same pattern of decline as yours. A perfect 50% reduction from the previous day.

Really weird that this is a site-wide slaughter, kind of similar to a penalty. Maybe similar to the "medic update". I bet we're in the same niche.

Right there with you. One of our smaller affiliate sites is just being tortured.

On the other hand other sites went up nicely or just kept their rankings (with the overall same approach to links, content, on-page SEO and digital branding).

So, yeah. Another year, another big update. Random fking SERPs all over and Google just doing Google things.

My website ranking suffered but I think it is due to the fact I have moved to new webhost and the server location I have chosen is USA.

I hope things will become normal like before after December as Google every year in December play with business to get more benefits through Adv due to the fact many people do shopping for the new year.

I got a slight recovery yesterday and now I got raped again.

Some people I talked to yesterday got hit for the first time during this update. Obliterated.
My website first time in history got affected by this update. But, I am hopeful it will be back to normal in January again as its Google play.

it's been very interesting seeing who got hit who didn't.. so far it seems aged sites did well, and new sites got slammed

Two of my websites have been apparently hit, while the third one is doing better than it has ever done.
