Google Broad Core Update December 2020

Traffic seemed to rise a bit near the beginning of the update but seems to be slowly returning back to where it was before the roll out. Nonetheless, I’m still stuck at about 500-600 daily PV’s since the core update in May. For some reason, Google doesn’t like my site. Not sure what to do about it at this point. Is the site fucked? All white hat with everything that Google wants for the most part.

Two days before the update I had a 20% drop in traffic. On Dec 4th I saw about 80-100% increase. Yesterday traffic fell off a cliff down over 60%. Today traffic is even lower than yesterday. At this point I just hope to be even at the end of this. These swings are killing me.

Got hit on two of my high traffic-income websites on dec 4th.. A was 20-30% down, B was like 40%...
Yesterday A was almost recovered but B was killed, another 40% down, keywords jumbed from 1st page to nowhere.
I have more websites, and monitor hundreds. Sites built on expired domains were hit harder (as it happened in May).

Clearly these metrics are only able to track only tip of the iceberg.
Meanwhile, many people are like this now...
Can't blame them..Its exactly same pattern for one of my sites. Went up on 4th and yesterday fell off the cliff.
Anyone relying only on SEO to earn a living online is simply not serious.

Saw one site to go nuclear by 70% increase in traffic at first and then fall around 80% yesterday. And again it has started to gain momentum today. Welcome to Digital Roller Coaster..

Glad to see rankings are coming back for lots of people. Saw some minor hits to my big keywords. Seems a lot of keywords that are low volume that i was ranking well for have completely tanked. I dont care much about them but it was interesting to see this. Would like them to come back of course but so long as I dont go down more than the 1 or 2 places I have with the bigger keywords ill be happy.
I also got an outbound link strike which came at a strange time. It wasn't unjustified i guess. Had to do a cleanup of some of the garbage.

After a terrible day yesterday where I was down 60 percent today, i'm down another 50 percent from yesterday's low. I'm getting slaughtered. It doesn't look like there is any letting up. If this keeps up this update will have lost me at least 40% of traffic. For those that followed me and a big traffic boost followed by declines are you seeing any signs of a letdown or are you still tanking as well?

Biggest changes I've noticed since yesterday is the 2-3 (or more) Amazon product and category listings are being stripped back out to just a single link so seeing recovery... Been knocked on a few KWs (but these ones are to bigger brands) and in all honesty I shouldn't have been sat at No.1 for so long in them spots either so I'm not worried about the loss on them!
I've also started to notice a lot more Amazon PPC... maybe they always been there but I'm spotting them on super long tail keywords as well at the moment.
On the whole I think the SERPs seem much cleaner than the update last week. Hopefully it stays this way but I doubt it.
We got some theories at the moment as to what is going on but brand and age seem to be getting decent gains but not in all niches.. ours is a mix!
