Google Broad Core Update December 2020

Very big gains for me on a site with no SEO links purchased, just content. It's been sitting for about 5 months.

In my niсhe all top is google play, apple store, youtube, amazon and lots of old .it doorways.

On the other site I lost a lot of postions on September 1, now they are going up.

No major changes. Seems positive ranking only.
Let's see the upcoming days.

yep, i wanna break a leg that Google geek from algo updates department, honestly
Really sad..Had some good improvement last month and now is gone. Site is 7-8 months old and only a few backlinks. Meanwhile my competitors with low content or no content at all & all kind of spam backlinks stay the same positions. My position is taken by a redirect :(

I noticed that posts which took at least 2-3 days to get indexed are getting indexed within minutes. Blog is almost 4 years old.

What about you?

huge loss on my end. >50%. Blackhat project over 2 years old.

People that are experiencing loss, how are your anchor texts?

I am noticing links that have the keyword anchor text got hit for that keyword. Other keywords that don't have link anchor text didn't. Anyone else experiencing this?

I understand you, all. 1 year ago, my white hat site with a lot of time content research and building sightly dropped most its ranks by churn and burn sites, untill I lost all motivation and decided to sell it. Now, I just come back with a 2-month site built on 8 year old domain. My main purpose is to fool Google. Haha, my site just jumps up 20 positions for some main keywords thanks to the update.

Now fool Google with AI generated contents. Let's go. Make Google a second Yahoo. oyeeee

Funnily enough one of my sites has taken a liking to the update ....so far. Traffic has also had a spike.
- Site is more informational geared content
- Adding content 1-2 times a week
- No homepage PBNs but 10 or so inner post style PBNs
- Some forum + quora links
- Couple of good guest posts

My other site (built on expired domain) hasn't really been affected, traffic slightly on the low side. Some kw up, some down like usual.

Can you please tell me what is the name of the plugin you are using in order to display your keyword's ranking, please?

I'm hoping thing bounce back because for many of my long tail keywords, the top results are not really on-topic.
  • Forum posts are ranking far higher
  • Quora is showing up on the first page of tons of results
  • Actual results in first 5 spots are frequently off the mark
  • The results don't appear to be age-based necessarily.
I have noticed Google the past month or so has been far off the mark for coding-related searches.

Has anyone put in some terms and looked at it in ahrefs or such and seen if there is a trend or some reason for the current ranking? It may very well be that putting a little more effort into backlinks and a little less into content, which is reversing the fairly recent trend of having an edge with better addressing the search in your content.

I think we probably have to wait a couple of weeks for things to settle to see what Google prefers now. Was it a reset and everything is being re-evaluated and will shuffle back out after being tested in various spots, or did the game change noticeably.

If a given page is jumping all over, doesn't that imply that it's all being evaluated and it's way too early to tell anything?

Hoping things settle, because some of my pages were literally yeeted from page 1-2 into space.

The top results are just awful, like the laziest affiliate sites ever.

so yeah so far I am salty
