Google Broad Core Update December 2020

During the May update I lost 70% of traffic. All rich, featured snippets and images next to my site on google.(do not know how it's called) while my competitors did not. Now i got back everything similar how it was before may core update. Only bonus is that my competitors lost all the rich snippets.

It's the very first time I've been hit by any Google Update at all, but it's quite bizarre to see the drop in traffic.

Some people talk about a 70 % drop. I'm happy mine is just about ~30 %, but they're at both my main money sites.

In may update drop 60% traffic.
Now again 60% drop - lost completely ewerything

What's your back link profile link? Any pbns, niche edits, spam etc?

Very clean on both of them. Norwegian websites. The content is also very well-researched and our bounce rate is low & our average time on site is high.

I'm curious why they would rank sites over us. But it seems like they have given it to bigger e-commerce websites. Just like Amazon is dominating more and more SERPs in the US.

Exactly my thoughts. Last year it happened to me too. When the September update started rolling some of our sites didn't just fall in rankings they actually fall out from the SERP's. But then after a few days later they were back. Can't say to their exact previous position but although nevertheless.

For me traffic is down 50% but it is too early to conclude. I'll wait for a week before coming to any conclusion.

EXACTLY the same for my site. Idk if there is any explanation for this but it seems incredible random what is happening in these updates.

Damn, first time I've really been hit by a Google Update.
Guess it was only a matter of time before I, too, feel the wrath of Google.

Traffic down 50% on one site and around 35% on the other so far (completely different niches btw)

Interestingly, the pure white hat site is the one harder hit, which makes me wonder what exactly the new algorithm is based on to explain such brutal SERP changes?

Do you have many backlinks?

Haven't really lost much in terms of SERPs, but the traffic is for sure lower the past 3-4 days. Not sure if that's down to the update or the come-down after Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

it seems that this time more so called "white-hat" sites have been hit or to put it in another word, more hard core black hat sites have come up and taken over those white hat spots?!
