It was only a matter of time until this came out, finally both Bing and Google admit that they utilize the Social graph to influence their SERP rankings.

I've seen this occurring for the past year, and built some accounts that have helped me manipulate SERPs even further.

What does this mean? It means that Google and Bing have the ability to utilize social networking sites to help influence their SERPs.

Keep in mind that this is the future of SEO, altleast in my eyes. The social graph will help produce the best search results possible since it'll begin to utilize your friends recommendations, and recommendations of people that you "trust".

It's time to take a deeper look ladies and gentlemen. I'm sure there will be services offered shortly that will help you manipulate your SERPs even more in the coming months.

I think that in the larger, long-term trend, it won't be about utilizing what your real life friends search for, but simply what people similar to yourself have searched for. More and more data will be aggregated and applied to the point where the search engines will be able to predict almost exactly what you need based on what other similar people have done in the past. Not necessarily what your "friends" have done.
