Google bans/sandboxes Affiliate Sites - True/False?!

You can use gocodes which is WP plugin so redirect looks like
url.com/go/keyword

It works on my sites as well as other affiliates in my niches using it. Best is php redirect which you can find tutorials on youtube. Also you should place only 1 link for around every 200 words of content. Lastly, create clickable image that looks like link saying "CLICK HERE to try it now" or whatever & name image longtail or related kw.

Follow this tips and you'll be good.

If you observe carefully.... google is catering to the searcher.....more and more.

When people google search...
they hate the search to come up with the list of "review","is so and so a scam", and any other info page that turns out to be a sales page. And usually NOT the sales page of the originator of the product.....
so google is working on getting rid of that.

some time ago... if you searched for a product say a camera..... you would
get list of Amazon affiliates selling that camera... all outranking even the home page
of the camera maker. We all know how google fixed that.... it labeled those sites as thin affiliate and dropped them like hot shit....

Google likes banners.... it does not like when you seem to review something but you are actually an affiliate. google does not like affiliates because people that search do not like affiliates either.

in the near future....
In my opinion.....
banners will be the only thing that google will allow on your site.
Why?... because if people search...
Google wants them to find the info they are looking for....
and if they go to your site...
and their interest is caught by a banner...
then they will click but that click will be out of the boundaries of the original search... and Google is okay with that.
if this happen, it'd be super hard to make money anymore. You either have to have your own product/service or write long crappy articles and hoping people would click your banner/adsense ads. For every 10,000 visitors a day, you prob won't make $5000 a month with shitty banner/text ads (considering loyal visitors usually would never click any ads). Would it still worth it anymore?

re: sandbox

I recently started to build an authority site. I was targeting about 20 related keywords. Got the Google love for the first 2 weeks, had a couple of pages rank within the top 20, then bam - all gone. Nothing was ranking. For months I was building back links and it seemed in vain.

5 months to the day - half a dozen pages starting ranking within the top 20. They all appeared all at once. There seems to be two versions of the sandbox. New site sandbox and "I did something bad and got bumped down" sandbox.

Fuc* it. Although i havent been deindexed/sandboxed yet, but in one of my keywords, i just jumped from rank 1 to 3rd position. I spent half year to rank this site to the top, and only able to stay at the top for around 40 days. I hope i can be at the top again but definitely need to know if affiliate sites still have the sustainability it once had

I'm recently wondering if gocodes is the problem. I use it on all my sites, and I got hit 2 weeks ago, my main 4 sites got blasted back 5 - 10 pages. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that they are gone for good.

You sure about that?Im using gocodes as well

Have you noticed a drop in any of your sites?

I think the user who used gocodes and noticed a drop in his sites has some other type of issue with this site(s) going on.

well this is my stats for the last 2 months...

keyword 1: ranked first since 5th March
keyword 2: ranked first since 19th March

keyword 1: still ranked first at 5th May
keyword 2: ranked third at 5th May

keyword 1: still ranked first at 6th May
keyword 2: back to first rank at 6th May

keyword 1: now dropped to rank 11th today (10th may)
keyword 2: same, dropped to rank 11th today (10th may)

:(

Yes...Google hates thin affiliates. It's kind of a big deal to them to have web pages that actually have useful content. After they discover your low quality page they will dropkick it down the ranks.

my sites aren't thin affiliates. It always need at least 2 clicks from homepage before they get redirected to affiliate links. I have tons of content, which aren't linked to the affiliate link, actually. I use robots.txt to cover folder that i redirect to my affiliate link.

Thing that pisses me off the most, the 1st and 3rd rank in my SERPs ARE ACTUALLY affiliate sites as well (while the 2nd spot is a legit site, i can say). Even more, the 3rd rank in my keywords actually try to copy my domain name, I can feel it because he use very2 similar domain name to mine (I already have that site since 2007 while his site prob was registered at 2009/2010)..Both of these affiliate sites, well their link building methods are different though, seems they are buying tons of backlinks from TLA and the likes

Yes you shouldn't have any direct affiliate links on your website. Instead make a PHP redirect like you mentioned.

But one thing you forgot. Upoload PHP file to a folder on your webste and set your robots.txt to disclude that folder. Doing this alone will almost instantly make you outrank your competitors who are using direct links

well all of my competitors (and me) also use robots.txt and php redirection and all that basic stuffs, so i doubt that actually make any difference...

Put useful, relevant, and unique content on your site. 100%. If someone searches for "French sayings and phrases" then whatever they click on should have a reasonable list of french sayings. This goes for any search. People want to click once and get what they need, not an infomercial.

A lot of marketers websites are just vague, useless infomercials. They never actually give pertinent information about what the user was searching for. It's just line after line of bullshitting. You should make content sites that happen to have advertisements, not advertising sites that happen to have some content.

Google isn't going to drop a site simply because it has these types of ads (within reason). I see plenty of well known, popular websites that are all about original content (news, organizations, famous people, etc...) that have some of the same ads I see on various CPA networks. They have never been and will probably never be penalized because of those ads alone.

However! If you choose to run bullshitting sites, content collecting sites, or anything like that then just be prepared. Know that it's temporary. Make your 5 bad content sites and have another 5 ready to go with a slightly altered make-up. Then it doesn't matter how many times google deindexes them. You have another batch going up to make some money for the next 6-12 months.

You just have to decide "long term safe money making sites" vs "short term risky money making sites"

Make no mistake - google f****** hates, loathes, destroys, punishes, despises affiliate sites. Thin affiliate sites that is.

A lot of the time people are actually LOOKING for review sites, for more information on the product. If an affiliate site is giving that information, then there is nothing wrong with that. If G was to punish all people who wanted to make money from a website that could work against them in the future. A lot less people would have motivation to make any quality websites.

Hi, so basically sites like this page: http://www.shopinuk.co.uk/news/introducing/594/smartshopping-baby-clothes/ will be banned sooner or later?

My last amazon affiliate website is banned by google. Although content is unique, it's pretty short article. Each post describes about the product, it's kinda like an online store but I sell amazon products. If you are right, then there's no point for me to build another amazon review website with each unique 300-350 words review because Google doesn't like review website. What do you think about this website : http://www.besttoysguide.com/<-- it's a toy review website.

What about news websites? They post the same news in different style but still they provide the same information. Take a look at trendhunter.com, the writers of this website write only around 120-150 words each post for the same news which available all around the net. Yet, they don't get banned. There are a lot of websites like that. So, the reason from google webmaster forum members about short content web can get you banned is not really true.

Any suggestion what kind of website I should create in order to be able to monetize it with amazon?

People who build review websites pr blogs with affiliated links to products will get totally shit on by Google.

I've been banned by Google on Adwords for trying to promote Review websites through their ad network.

Even though my review content was totally original, contained a variety of alternative products with non affiliated website links, my review blog was still classed as a bridging page because it contained 1 affiliated link on the landing page.

My suggesting to anyone is to build a website and submit it to the Google Adwords accessors asking if it would be accepted into their ad network. Then keep tweaking the website and submitting to them for evaluation until it is approved.

This way you will find out what Google accepts as a decent website, because whatever is accepted on Adwords will be accepted in the search engines.

@JackSparrow : well that means remove any affiliate link from the web, then how do you monetize it?

It is a myth invented by webmasters whose sites didn't rank
as fast as they wanted.

Sorry buddy, sandbox is no myth. I've personally managed SEO campaigns for a thousand clients at the same time and much more in my time of SEO. Sandbox does exist, and a good number of websites experience the "sandbox" at one time or another.

I've seen sites that go from top rankings (top5) to supplemental index (page50+) for several weeks, to bounce back even higher than before. I've even seen the same websites bounce like that several times a year.

Believe what you want, but having seen this occur hundreds of times I know for a fact that sandbox, or some equivalent does in fact exist.
