Hi Everyone

It seems like Google is playing around with people, adding and deleting different algos every week.

This is becoming more and more confusing for a marketer to tackle such cases frequently.

What is your opinion on it?

Besties :)

Google authorship is still there, but you can't see the pictures of the authors, just the names.

They infact removed the authorship markup from the page that used to indicate authorship is working, it was there till last day i.e, Thursday and now gone BOOM!!

It seems like Google stopped showing the names of the author but they still do give it value and consider it as factor, however now it makes me feel like I'm again back in 2008 :P.

"John Muller the Google Webmaster Trends Analyst stated that after an experiment of three year time, the Web decided that the feature was not useful for readers as it was supposed to be."

I've checked on of my sites which used to have author's name in SERP... it's gone now. Interesting.

Authorship is a feature I've never made use of and never planned on using. Turns out my opinion of it was right - it's worthless.

God forbid SEO savy webmasters should have an edge over people that don't take the time to learn about things like authorship...

its already gone since a few weeks, i think too many people abused it. this rich snippet stuff will change alot i think.

Lets be honest, it was 99% spam anyway. Very few non-spammy niches used it, so it is no shock they removed it.

This was bound to happen. There was absolutely no sense of Google authorship.

"Absolutely no sense" is kind of harsh. Google authorship did prove useful in some niches like SEO, Digital marketing during research. But I agree, now that it's gone I don't really miss it.

The only people using it were clowns trying to promote their tech blog or marketeers.
9/10 whenever I clicked on of those results and I didn't recognise the face/name, the article would usually be a piece of shit.
