They infact removed the authorship markup from the page that used to indicate authorship is working, it was there till last day i.e, Thursday and now gone BOOM!!
It seems like Google stopped showing the names of the author but they still do give it value and consider it as factor, however now it makes me feel like I'm again back in 2008 .

"Absolutely no sense" is kind of harsh. Google authorship did prove useful in some niches like SEO, Digital marketing during research. But I agree, now that it's gone I don't really miss it.
The only people using it were clowns trying to promote their tech blog or marketeers.
9/10 whenever I clicked on of those results and I didn't recognise the face/name, the article would usually be a piece of shit.
