Hi Everyone.

As the title mentions I’m having an issue with my ads no longer showing impressions. Currently we have 3 ad accounts running (with 2 payment methods). The only ads they approved were the first smart campaigns that is set up when you first start your account which is why we set up 3 ad accounts. So far this is the only way we were able to run PPC to a cannabis delivery website.

For about a few months the ads were converting and generating low cost per clicks but lately they have stopped almost altogether. All three accounts went from showing 10k impressions a month to less than a thousand and even zero.

At first I thought the audience was tapped out so I changed some stuff on each of the smart campaigns:

1. Keyword hemes

2. Audience locations from a broad area to specific towns.

3. Changed the copy of the Ads.

4.Turned off search words related to the cannabis dispensary itself. (We did not want the ad to spend when people searched for our company because the SEO was already pretty good so we turned off those words)

5. Linked the accounts together so we can pull the analytics from all the campaigns at once (I suspect this!)

So far it has shown some impressions but not nearly as close to what we were getting before.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can get those campaigns to convert back to the way they were?

Did me changing things around mess everything up because google doesn’t like changes being made to the ads when it comes to machine learning on those campions?

Thanks for taking the time out of your day!

firstly: have you tried writing support?
secondly: did you check the ad results for your key queries? maybe competitors are bypassing you

Thanks for you reply.

1. I have not tried to write support because google doesn’t like you running ads to any drug or Alcohol website so technically they might flag our accounts and that would be bad. Google will only let us run the first campaign when you start the ad account. Everything else we tried to submit gets denied.

2. I tried to do what you mentioned but we are only running (1 smart campaign) for each account. This type of campaign is limited to what you can do. It’s pretty much a default campaign google gives to new customers to help them get started then you have to make normal campaigns after to set up more complex ad configurations.

2. - optional, you can immediately make a campaign according to your configuration, based on experience and empirical research, there is no significant difference
