Hello everyone,
I know I'm certainly not the only one who has had this problem.
A few years ago, my Google Ads account was suspended for “unacceptable business practices: phishing.” Unfortunately, Google doesn't provide any information about what exactly they don't like. Appealing doesn't help anyway, and you don't get any feedback from a real person. What's the point of appealing if you don't know what you've done wrong?
I have a CMS (Joomla) on a German server, CMP (from Google), legal notice, terms and conditions – everything is there.
I had just started using Google Ads and had spent maybe a few euros before the account was suspended again.

I find it particularly regrettable that Google itself does not provide any feedback on what exactly is wrong. I've read through the ad policy - ht tps://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/15938071#phishing and I have to say, I feel pretty ripped off when I read through the examples and am accused of something like that, and then you don't get any feedback from Google Ads about what they actually don't like.

Thanks to Google, I feel like a criminal. I don't have any problems with other systems, only with Google, and this isn't the first time :(

Best regards!

They dont tell you the reason on purpose. They want people like us to have as little information as possible to what makes google ban accounts.

Write an appeal (submit it again if it was not approved the first time) and there is a chance that your account will be unblocked. Tested.

google has become hit and run kinda case, you can run but cannot hide. i like this cat and mouse game.

I have lodged around 20 appeals over a period of several years—each time automatically rejected without any feedback.

No, I don't use a cloaker. Until now, I didn't even know what that was...

There could be some plugin / addon on your website that is being detected as malicious by Google Ads algorithms.

Your suspension likely stems from automated detection flagging something on your site - a script, popup, or even a third-party plugin - as potentially deceptive. The lack of human feedback is standard; Google's appeals are primarily automated. To move forward, create a completely new site on a fresh domain with minimal plugins, ensure no aggressive popups or cloaking, and use a new Google Ads account with a different payment method. Analyzing the old site's code for hidden redirects or suspicious elements is crucial.

Hey, it's okay. Don't be so sad bro. Just write it to them asking for a proper reason. Most of the time, if you fulfill their demands, they will accept what you say and remove ban from your account. Just pray and hope that they do..

Woah... that's a whole lot of appeals man.. dam, still got rejected?? so sad :(

You’re definitely not alone. This “phishing / unacceptable business practices” suspension often happens automatically, even when there’s no real phishing involved.

Google usually doesn’t give specific feedback — appeals are mostly automated re-checks, not real human reviews. That’s unfortunately normal.

Common triggers can be:
  • New or low-trust domains
  • CMS plugins, tracking scripts, or redirects
  • Hosting/IP reputation
  • Missing or weak trust signals
  • Mismatch between website info and Ads account details
It doesn’t mean you did something criminal — Google’s risk system is just extremely aggressive and opaque.

Many legitimate businesses face this, especially when starting out with Google Ads.

Have you used cloaker-type redirects? Are there any links on the site that redirect to a different website?

H - no cloaking.
And yes, i have external links to other website. But who hasn't ;)

Most suspensions happen due to policy violationsneven if it’s not obvious—so checking the Policy Manager is step one............

I can't check anything in Policy Manager. Google always says “phishing,” but I don't engage in phishing. I also can't check old advertising campaigns. My account has been suspended since 2020, and all advertising campaigns prior to that no longer exist.

You’re not alone — this is a very common Google Ads issue.
In most “phishing / unacceptable business practices” cases, the trigger is not the CMS or legal pages, but things like: unclear value proposition, aggressive lead forms, missing company credibility signals, redirects, or content that looks misleading to Google’s automated systems.
Unfortunately, appeals rarely work unless the site is significantly rebuilt and the account is reviewed after clear changes. Many advertisers end up starting fresh with a fully compliant site structure and stricter

Your ad content or website most likely contains inappropriate content. I’ve been running ads for my own business with clean content and proper payments, and my Google account hasn’t been suspended once in the past three years.

Great for you. And no, I don't have any inappropriate content. Google is the only company that treats me like a criminal (even though Google are the real criminals).

I've been through something similar to you. I had an ad account for two years, everything was legal, and then one day I received an email from Google saying my account had been suspended. I emailed them but they refused to reactivate it. I realized that even if you comply with Google's policies, they can still suspend your account, which is why I now always have two backup accounts.
