I got hit badly in this update. My all keyword has gone out of the space. Now, I am hearing lots of people got hit.
Normally, when you got hit by google algo update you will see a sudden drop from 1st page to 2nd or 3rd page. Gradually, it will drop more.

But, 6 February 2018 Update was totally different. If a website got hit then you will not find any keyword under 100 position (This normally happens only manual penalty).

Here is my two observation/point that could be the reason of this update:
1) Lots of exact match anchor text backlinks. Generic or Naked url very low compare to EMA.
2) Money article is very High compares to How to article.

Got hit? Share your observation. Let's try.... to find some common pattern of this update.

Looks you are the only one who got hit My Bh site working normal.

OP

What type of site was it? Affiliate, ecom, local business ?

Updates happen all the time. This might be a tweaking of the Penguin algo, which considers whether your link profile looks unnatural.

It could also be that Google has recently reconsidered your site and decided it didn't trust it. Although Penguin is meant to be "real time", I think assesment of individual sites happens periodically (say every three months after a major recrawl).

The solution might be to build generic and URL anchors.

I've yet to hear any theory that Google penalises because the pages on your website have too much commercial intent. I think it is probably something to do with your link profile.

Lots of money articles.
Money:info= 9:1, got no hit.
Visitors increasing rapidly.
:P
