Good SEO services for eCommerce sites

Do you guys have any recommendations for SEO services? The website it'll be used for is a large eCommerce website. I'm looking for somebody who can rank high competition keywords to 1st position, and I plan to be ranking many keywords at a time. What are your guy's recommendations?? I need the best of the best.

Sometimes the best keywords for an ecomm site to rank for are low comp product-name keywords. Just food for thought.

Yes this guy is dead on from my limited experience!

I know I'm a total nub but I actually ranked my brothers eCommerce site for a bunch of specific products just through on page seo work super low cost low time investment. He now gets an extra 2-300 visitors a month which is not a huge boost in traffic but the conversion rates are off the charts as they are largely coming with the intention to buy a specific product.

may be this is old thread but directly going for off site seo service wont be a good choice for new ecommerce store.
first you need to check
1)On-Page SEO
2)Page loading times.
3)Getting unique product descriptons.(this helped me move up for my keywords).
4)Image compression
5)Remove all Javascript conficts (if present).
etc..

After checking all these things then you can look into offsite seo.

Check out storecoach.com. They go into detail about seo strategy for ecommerce sites pretty frequently. The lemonadestand may have posts about seo too.

One of the best things you can do, once on page seo is sorted, is to create a blog on a subdomain, and use it to go into specific details of pages you would like to rank for.
For example, doing a blog post on a specific product/category that links to the product/category page. I rank no1 for chosen keyword with only 2 links from 2 different specific blog posts only using naked url links (no anchor text) + Some more specific posts that link deep into those chosen categories.
Also as these pages/links are highly relevant, they will stand the test of time, perfect if your e-commerce store is looking to develop into a brand name, as your links are going to last, and you should be consitently ranking for chosen keywords.
