Good resources for newbie in SEO?

Hey. What you suggest? I took couple free courses on udemy and read articles on here about SEO. What more can be suggested?

Hi, @Manis Carman! I advise that you follow SEO personalities. Start with Neil Patel's blogs. He writes in a conversational and easy-to-understand tone. You may Google his name.

In SEO there are different types of opportunity level to make money

plan properly before what do want to learn,
Don't say ideally want to learn SEO!

First, ask yourself, why do want to learn SEO!
Whether you want to make money through online or want to be expert in SEO
Becuase the required knowledge level for these two options is different.

In SEO there are many different sections available.
Go with one by one
Don't try to learn everything in short period.


But you have to try out (do it practically) the thinks which you learned along with the training. You can start a blog. Research about choosing a low competition keyword, learn about web design, learn about creating quality content, learn about using the auto SEO tools, learn about types of link building, learn about the importance of social media in SEO, etc...

There are many many opportunities available to know about SEO. For example in BHW forum itself lots of thread available to improve your knowledge in SEO. Just try to use the search function. You just need to open your eyes and start to learn. At least learn from all sticky threads in each category.

If you Really Want to learn SEO Follow:

1. Niel Patel (Known Best for his Blogs and give free Webinars for newbies)
2. Matthew Woodwards
3. Brian Dean (If you want to spend Money learning Real SEO)
4. Moz Blog (They really provide Good Information About Current SEO.

But the Main Point is how well you apply your knowledge in your SEO campaign. Don't try to learn all and then apply your knowledge to your website (you waste a lot of time if you do that), I suggest learn SEO and try to apply that on your website and see results.

Well, there are multiple resources available online. But what you won't find anywhere is your trial/error experience.

Taking courses is awesome, reading other resources is also great. But what really works is applying every single thing you get to know.

I would too recommend downloading Neil Patel's Free SEO guides on his blog (QuickSprout) and start from there..
(I'm assuming you already have a website or blog to apply what you've got to learn)

Neil Patel's only shitty mission in life is to leech of newbies. Woodward has become too commercialised. Moz metrics have become pants and their blog is not much better, however they do have a decent newbie guide to SEO. Brian Dean has some awesome stuff on his site especially content from a few years back.

Agreed with you ... but for a beginner, I think these are the best places to get some knowledge.

Agreed with you about woodwards now... he is now more concerned about his affiliate marketing rather than giving pure knowledge.

Moz now more focused on their own services like Moz local and Moz toolbar but still, I love to read Moz it is better to get aware rather than not following them.

I will say you are on the right place here. BHW, WF and WebmsterWorld are great places to learn SEO (much better than reading articles on sites like SE Land or SE Journal where everyone says: "Create High Quality Content!", "Content is King!", "Create Linkbait!", "SEO is Dead!" or other bullshit

Just Google it out and get some basic knowledge on SEO and go through the famous sites for SEO like Neil Patel and Moz blogs it would give you another good experience to update your knowledge.
