I have seen lot of people using gold as gifting option here but the trend is not visible with crypto. What could be the reason behind this?

Gold is generally much more acceptable everywhere, its value is cemented and been proven
Crypto is more for the cool online people, doesn't mean it's bad, but I would say, it really depends who you are gifting it to.
If you are gifting Crypto to someone who barely uses technology as it is, they probably won't know it's true value.

Crypto can also be exchanged for money in seconds.
that's only if you know what you are doing tho
you can also lose crypto within seconds too
You ain't seeing it in the bigger picture
standard common-sense knowledge of crypto isn't there

PS just because you know what Bitcoin or crypto is
doesn't mean you can navigate your way around buying and selling it.
There is a learning barrier.

Even with gold, different kind of frauds are there. There is always news of gold shops selling fake jewellery.

Gold is more stable than crypto so i will choose gold

Crypto is the future. So unless the person is over 50 - gift them crypto.

it's fine to be in denial
scammers and fraudsters everywhere
but that doesn't diminish the fact Gold is always usually much more preferred and used then Crypto

Because it has been in existence for much longer. Also, other factors as you said might be responsible.

I think both could be a viable gifting option depending on the person you’re gifting it too, a lot more people are familiar with gold and would know how to convert it in to fiat though, apart from that crypto is pretty volatile so you might gift someone $100 worth and it’ll be less the next day (or more), lol.

Because gold is recognized by law and allowed to be traded. It has been valuable for generations, even in some countries, gold is used as a gift in weddings. Of course, any item is easily counterfeited, we need to find reputable addresses and units to buy quality gold.

Dear friend, the problem here is easy to understand when something that is not recognized by law has only become popular with young people in recent years. Gold has been popular for a long time, everyone recognizes it. If I were given a gift between these two, I would choose gold because it is safer.

Gold and crypto are not same things.
Also, all people are not use crypto.

Gold is far more stable a commodity, if your in need of fast cash, there probably isn't many places in the world where you couldn't get it sold within less than an hour

The control of cryptocurrencies in my country has increased incredibly. I am currently afraid to withdraw the cryptos I have to my bank accounts. I wish I could transfer my cryptocurrencies to a cashier like USDT, BTC etc. and buy physical gold. Cryptocurrency trading has different meanings for countries every day. The perception in Türkiye is currently cryptocurrency = black money, illegal money.

Gold is more stable and widely accepted. On the contrary, crypto is volatile and unstable, imagine gifting your relative a coin worth $5,000 then few days later it’s worth less than $2k. That would be very disappointing.

In these scenario, Gold has all my vote.

I would say ask the person to see what would they prefers and do it accordingly to her choice

They gift gold jewelry, not just gold bars. Think of NFTs as the crypto equivalent, not Bitcoin or alts.
