Godaddy woes [Rant Warning]

I have had some bad experience too, like setting my nameservers to theirs, basically making money off of me. I was on vacation, no interent, came back low profits, check websites, and what do I see? A facking godady ads and $#!t, so I was like wtf? Checked hosting, all good, checked domains, all good, checked nameservers hours later, and they were set to theirs. Pissed as hell... Just to add internet.bs is good and throws in free private whois, JUSTHOST blows. I had some leftover time from moving away so I set up cousins website... in one week on average 4 times down for more than 2 hours. VPS or dedicated is the way to go. Sorry for ranting just adding my experience...

GoDaddy is good until something goes wrong, their customer service is mostly incapable of handling anything.

Anyone know how to transfer quite a few sites from godaddy shared to a dedicated server without shell access and avoiding doing it 1 at a time?

I have only one domain to them and use other registrar for serious projects. If your site gets alot of traffic then high end VPS or dedicated server should be good for you.

Out of laziness i decided to stick with godaddys slow hosting this year, more fool me. My account has been suspended without warning for causing high load on the shared server. I suspect it is wordpress caching plugins causing the problem but obviously i cannot login to sort it.

It was 3 days before i noticed my account suspension because my affiliate manager called to tell me my site was down. 7days later i am still trying to get some kind of coherent message from godaddy support. 10 days on and my sites have now dropped out of google, im going to loose $100s this month and have to put in extra work to get my sites back up the rankings.

pissed off doesn't cover it :AR15firin

In conclusion, godaddy suck and im a fucking idiot for not moving.

thank you for allowing me to vent, you may go about your business now.

Godaddy, Hostgator? shite the pair of them, avoid like the frigging plague

They suspended my account as well... fortunately i had a backup of both database and ftp so i switched to a dedicated server.... i got a call from Godaddy to inform me that ive been suspended... they keep the FTP enabled of suspended accounts, so get your files using FTP... i would suggest resolve the issues they listed in the suspension notification email to get unsuspended..

then get your database backup and run like satan is after you.... get a VPS or a dedi

I've been in Godaddy dedicated servers and it was a really peaceful experience IMO. Never got issues nor needed to contact support team. Sadly that's not the story for the shared hosting service.

For what it's worth, I hear that godaddy is going to spend $3 million on a Super Bowl ad ... lol

The best thing Godaddy did was to foster the creation of nodaddy

Hahaha hilarious!! It's really a shame that they have such a great advertisement policy but their service isn't good - what a shame! But well I guess marketing is more important than keeping old customers xD

Everything is good until something goes wrong...

Don't even reg domains at GD though. Shitty interface etc etc - do namecheap or internet.bs.

I think if I bought all of their "extras" I'd spend over 1k.

I would call up godaddy and say "hey... you owe me 100's of dollars. Besides that i'm sorry you have to go through such trouble with a host as big as godaddy. They need to get their stuff straight.
