I've got a website planned that has the potential to sell some products, since there are almost no eShops in my market and the few that exist don't have a affiliate program I'd like to try to sell the few products Amazon is offering.
I have to make the decision now if I should set up a Shop or just link to Amazon products. Since I've never had a site which actively sold products I don't know with which I should go. Here are the considerations I made until now:

Shop:

  • Pro: I can preselect products so buyers might buy more
  • Pro: Google might favor shops?
  • Con: Technical headaches
  • Con: Customer support?

Links:

  • Pro: Easy to do
  • Pro: I earn when a buyer buys another product later (Is this still valid?)
  • Con: Google penalties?
  • Con: I might sell only one product where I could have sold two

I don't know if these points are valid and if I took everything in consideration, because of this I would really appreciate your input on the matter.

Another quick question: Can I have Adsense Ads on a Site that has affiliate Links to Amazon?

Thanks for your time!

Well for me I would go for selling your own product
if you are the only eshop that sells this specific kind of product then you will bank hard

For the technical part there are other free open source scripts you can download and install on your host and data base , such as opencart

good luck
