Without going into too much detail, I have been unemployed for a few months and am getting to the point where I am not going to have any money left in the bank if I don't get a job (or some income stream) very very soon. Have not had any desire to work or really do much due to depression, but I have given myself a wake up call and know that I would rather work for myself this summer and have fun rather than slave away at some shitty job. I have read about/put together a method which I am putting into action next week, but I want to hear what you guys have to say about it in the mean time, and any tweaks you have for me before I do it. 1. I am going to collect a list of ten businesses on Monday morning that either do no have a website, or have a shitty website. 2. I will build each of them a new website (gathering any info either from their old website or from Google/Yelp/etc.) 3. Call up each business and get the owner on the phone for a few minutes, tell them about how I just built them a new website and have him/her take a look at it. 4. Make the sale. (Or not.) 5. $$$ I plan on pumping these sites out fairly quickly, using templates for sure. Not that I am trying to push crappy sites, but I do only plan on charging $250 per site + $25 a month for hosting and maintenance. Any input BHW?
