^This. Many times this. It's just too easy to get yourself in the position where you become too good a friend. Now I don't mean you should make it clear from the start that you like her and want to be more than friends, and I agree that the best foot forward is to become friendly first, but find that line. Mix your friendly chat with a bit of general flirtation without being sleazy. Hang about with her more often, have lunch at breaks together as friends would, then ask her out for a date. At this point you should know each other well enough to know whether you'd want to go out on a date with each other, and you should also know each other well enough to be able to talk about common interests without the chat stalling and the moment becoming uncomfortable.
It's each to their own in the end, but if I was back in college and new as much as I do now, then I think this is the way I'd approach it.

Hmm. Does everyone sit in the same spot? I would suggest you try to sit next to her...The key here would be not to talk to her much in class. Have her work for your attention.

You have to establish yourself as a smart guy with a great personality and you do that by participating in class, answer the teacher's questions so she notices you. Then try to run into her outside of class and ask her "Hey aren't you in my class?"

I would say...pass by her...make an eye contact and then smile... If she does the same...you have got a chance. Eye contact which ends with a smile usually works like charm.

Good. Eye contact are the best arrows of the love devil to strike. Be unpredictable and within sanity. Sometimes help her sometimes ignore her, but whenever you are around her, remember to smile looking at her and bring that glow in your eyes which you will later on see in her eyes as well.
