You don't need a storefront. You dont need a resturant, you dont need a food cart, you don't need nothing just cook in your house kitchen and sell.
It's called ghost kitchen. And you know what people don't care. Hell, some will buy only from you.

Those aint cheap though... and I am guessing delivery is not even included in the price she mentioned

I think I have heard about food on Facebook Marketplace too, where you get homemade food. I guess that can also be called a ghost kitchen

It's much riskier though 'cos you are never sure what you are going to get from different vendors.

But then I see how those that genuinely make good food and have a good reputation already would really be doing well with this, but there will be a lot of bad vendors too

You are right that the low overhead is a game changer. The biggest hurdle is usually the legal side since health departments often require a licensed commercial space rather than a standard home kitchen.

If you use a shared commissary kitchen or follow local cottage food laws, you can skip the shopfront entirely. It is a smart way to build a brand through delivery apps without the massive debt of a traditional restaurant.

There are a lot of these in India. They are called 'cloud kitchens' here. No physical presence, just a kitchen, even from their apartment sometimes. They sign up with food delivery apps. Pretty hassle free and saves a lot of money in rent and salaries.

In Brazil, we call them dark kitchens. I get lunch almost every day by ordering through the iFood app, and I think it's way more convenient than spending time and money cooking during the week. It's pretty common around here.

I've seen this in alternative/anarchist circles.

The goal: to screw over big business, which only serves to exploit honest workers.

I swear, you don’t want to try that.

One day, a buddy took me to a guy who does that. “Cover charge”: €5. I saw my plate, didn’t touch it.

It was also really common during the COVID pandemic.

But if you want to catch a stomach bug or a parasite and lose 5 kilos in 12 hours, it’s a great weight-loss plan.

Guys please suggest me how can i earn money.. if gonna illegal i will do bcz i have lost everything in betting app

Illegal is not allowed here. You can't ask for illegal ways to make money at blackhatworld. You are at the wrong place to ask that.
I have never did betting in my life not even once. Because it does not work! So stop doing it and get help call those 1800 number right now to get betting help. Good luck.

I'm interested in doing this actually I was asking AI lol. Interestingly enough you can do a hybrid too whereby you serve customers whilst also using delivery apps but that's just a restaurant isn't it. It suggests renting a small place close to the city to save you the money and give you a strategic place.

Here in India, they're called Cloud Kitchens.

We have two big players in the food delivery space - Zomato and Swiggy

These are listing sites basically where restaurants can log in and upload their menu. Customers can login and place orders.

The end to end order flow (pick up from the restaurant and delivery to customer) is managed by the apps.

So while public restaurants can sign up, you can also rent a space and start your own kitchen provided you get a GST number and a FSSAI (Food Safety) license.

However, renting the space isn't mandatory - you can start from your own kitchen if your landlord issues an NOC.

They've gradually becomes extremely popular and you can find several listings such as "Mala's Home Kitchen".

Very popular amongst folks who've moved to the city for studying or for their jobs and miss home cooked meals.

I have a stake in a small kitchen myself :)

Yeah, cloud kitchens can be a pretty smart way to start small. The low overhead is attractive, but I think consistency and food quality are what really make or break the business.
