I'm sure you all read up on the first, but what about the last? Basically what I'm asking from the community is a general idea of how online interactions have evolved in the past 2 decades (since we had that DSL broadband with 256 kbps beep noise that wouldn't let mum call auntie) up to the point where strangely enough, a fair amount of content being produced & consumed by casual browsers isn't Static, i.e. cached in the back-end by servers but actually being rendered on-the-fly from advanced linguistic probabilistic models capable of inferring patterns & preferences from a user then serving *filtered* content in order to maximize engagement. There are quite afew examples of this, although social network algorithms are the very definition of the concept because habits were logged & engineered to appease an end-user's attention-span, increasing scrolling + time spent on the platform.

On the other side of this debacle, we come across what's being marketed as Promotion - which might as well be, given that we are all marketing something in one form or the other through this forum. However, corpo reliability has become a thing of the past and companies appeal to the shareholder's return with unsustainable campaigns that have been designed for a quick buck rather than customer longevity & retention rate. Doing PPC for 1 week instills this idea for a strategy - and I'm not even going to mention anything organic like SEO where pushing Google's boundaries is the exact goal of the entire industry.

What's your opinion on these 2 topics at the current stage we're at, and how possible it is that with the advent of AI tech we're moving further into the deep, dead-end zone of an Internet that turns against what's brought us all together and made the nerdy, tech obsessed culture real while building the economy of the world for a better future (personally, I appreciate the fact that I won't be working in a farm like my father used to complain)?

fake products getting sold online. and people promoting these fake products with no brainer reviews for commission.
