First I would like to thank all the members for contributing so much valuable information that help newbie's such as myself. I got into the "scene" about 3 months ago and I kept reading and reading all this information to the point where my head wanted to explode because I couldn't decide on what method to use. I wanted to share my experience with video sharing sites and the potential traffic that can be generated from them.
Like I mentioned before I'm new to making money online. I have been running discussion forums for 10 years now but it was strictly a hobby and I never thought of monetizing them (Which I cant anyway as they are not very popular)
So here is my 1st money making experience:
I signed up with quite a few of CPA companies (which was really easy, I don't know what the fuss is about - I have not been declined yet) Great, now what? I need traffic. I tried e-whoring, link building, and all kinds of SEO techniques with little luck (I know they work, I just don't have the knowledge to fully utilize them yet)
So I decided to use YouTube as a traffic generator. I began to watch current trends / shows / movies on TV and decided to record anything that I believed is current and "HOT". After reviewing my videos I started cutting clips out of them and posting on YouTube and my very 1st clip has generated 42,000 views in 2 days (With 20 honors). The clip was taken down due to copyright violations but I managed to get enough traffic from my watermark embedded link that I made 160.00 off some crappy Surveys.
I did not give up and I started posting the same video on all the popular video sites:
Megavideo
MySpace TV
LiveLeak
Break
Metacafe
VideoSift
Yahoo Video
Veoh
Yes my videos are getting taken down here and there but most of them stay up. I have 4 videos that rank number 1 on G00gle with the keyword I wanted. I'm not making huge money but it is very exiting to see that "the system" works. I write blogs/squidoo pages for each of my clip where I post my offers on there. So far my conversions are low but that's only my fault and I'm sure I will learn better techniques.
So in conclusion!! Don't underestimate the power of video sites. There is so much traffic potential!!
Thank you all BH members for any help given to me over the past few months
