First I would like to thank all the members for contributing so much valuable information that help newbie's such as myself. I got into the "scene" about 3 months ago and I kept reading and reading all this information to the point where my head wanted to explode because I couldn't decide on what method to use. I wanted to share my experience with video sharing sites and the potential traffic that can be generated from them.

Like I mentioned before I'm new to making money online. I have been running discussion forums for 10 years now but it was strictly a hobby and I never thought of monetizing them (Which I cant anyway as they are not very popular)

So here is my 1st money making experience:
I signed up with quite a few of CPA companies (which was really easy, I don't know what the fuss is about - I have not been declined yet) Great, now what? I need traffic. I tried e-whoring, link building, and all kinds of SEO techniques with little luck (I know they work, I just don't have the knowledge to fully utilize them yet)

So I decided to use YouTube as a traffic generator. I began to watch current trends / shows / movies on TV and decided to record anything that I believed is current and "HOT". After reviewing my videos I started cutting clips out of them and posting on YouTube and my very 1st clip has generated 42,000 views in 2 days (With 20 honors). The clip was taken down due to copyright violations but I managed to get enough traffic from my watermark embedded link that I made 160.00 off some crappy Surveys.
I did not give up and I started posting the same video on all the popular video sites:
    Megavideo
    MySpace TV
    LiveLeak
    Break
    Metacafe
    VideoSift
    Yahoo Video
    Veoh

Yes my videos are getting taken down here and there but most of them stay up. I have 4 videos that rank number 1 on G00gle with the keyword I wanted. I'm not making huge money but it is very exiting to see that "the system" works. I write blogs/squidoo pages for each of my clip where I post my offers on there. So far my conversions are low but that's only my fault and I'm sure I will learn better techniques.

So in conclusion!! Don't underestimate the power of video sites. There is so much traffic potential!!

Thank you all BH members for any help given to me over the past few months :)

The thing with video making is, that most people don't like getting out of their shell and exposing them selves to the Internet. Also because not everyone is a good speaker. I believe if you got a niche about celebs and etc, video taping would be a good method just like you did, but if your in a niche like forex or SEO, getting videos isn't that easy. I think that is the main reason why video traffic is still untapped to it's fully potential to this day, while in text SEO is saturated like heck.

Yes, I only use celebs / known people video clips. They are getting good traffic no matter what I pick (maybe I just got lucky a few times) - I have a TV card connected to one of my PC's and Im recording every popular show on cable. Now its just a matter of time before I get sued by Viacom or someone else :)

Nothing could be further from the truth. Just watch / record / watermark it / upload / wait :)

@istuff (I just started doing this so I really cant give any stats yet)

Video is the way to go, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. ALL your vids could be taken down at ANY time. It has happened to me when i got 60 % of my traffic from them and it hurt me for a while. Best off downloading soft core porn vids from spankwire, take off the nude stuff and upload to youtube. seen great traffic for a while. youtube is clever though at picking these vids out. better not posting a link in the description - better watermarking the vid with your backlink using camtasia.

Yeah I know YouTube is hard to get around once they pin point you. I use PowerLink director to watermark my vids.

You should use VPN when uploading those videos. Fast and secure.

Yes I do use VPN :)
One of my popular videos on YouTube got 1300 backlinks to it (all in about 4 days). Once YouTube took it down all those sites looked for an alternative which they found as I uploaded it to other video sites which till this day they did not take it down. I have many keywords ranking #1 on google which lead to other sites embeding my video with my watermark.

You just have to remember that the video must be worth watching - This way people and sites will spread it like wild fire... No matter if its on youtube or not.

So far the best sites for posting copywrited material for me are MetaCafe and MySpaceTV !!

I would like to update on my methods.

My videos are still going strong. I have actually landed 1st page on G with my celeb videos with great keywords. 4 of my celeb videos keywords are their full names and thats it !! My videos show up right below their fan sites on google. (LiveLeak and MetaCafe almost never delete copyright material - Just make sure to cover the network logo with a image or something)

Some tips for anyone whos interested:

If you know how get some stealer dumps and search them for YouTube accounts (this way you wont have to register all new accounts, and these will be nice and aged with subscribers) I downloaded 20K dumps and found over 1100 youtube accounts and some of them allready have videos with 250,000 views (and still going) lol ... Dont know how to get dumps? G-it.

If you are interested on whats hot let me hint you:
Jonas Brothers (for some reason chicks love these guys with their purity bs)
World Cup highligts (yeah, soccer is the most popular sport so makes sense)
    Basically anything from comedy central

Youtube will remove most of your videos but it usually takes them a day of two and if your video is hot you can get up to 100K views. Also dont put all your effort in youtube. I have liveleak / myspace / metacafe vids that get 1st page on G and generate a few thousand views a day and some of that traffic spills over to my landing pages.

Money wise its not going as well as i hoped but I blame myself for not being able to lure people in better with my landing pages. I have started to upload like crazy. Your best bet is to record news/shows in the morning as by noon most of people will upload everything hot (and in the evening the shows are just all repeats)

way to think outside the box... Obviously (see my sig) I believe video IS (or can be) a tremendous way to generate traffic, or at least interest. It's one spoke on the wheel of SEO and by itself is probably not strong enough to dominate, but coupled with other methods, it rocks.

I've made some good money using this exact method.

After doing this for months together I realized copyright material (especially episodes) bring you the most traffic. Videos generally don't last really long, they get taken down eventually. I faced more problems from competition flagging down my videos than the Copyright owner itself.

On the downside, I feel the traffic coming from videos is very very short-lived in nature. This is everyday work... find the trends -> get the videos -> put it up -> watch it get removed -> put it up again and so on. It takes away all your time & you will not be able to do anything else.

BUT - its great for quick cash.
