Getting sued $$$$$ for other people's content.

I saw that Dan DaSilva got sued. he had to pay out $27,000. in damages.
No cease and desist. They went straight to litigation.

W/ his lawyer fees. $40K. He estimates $50k all in all w/ his time.
Thoughts? For those who re-purpose other people's images for their feed. I see most of this in Luxury and Fitness.

Googled him. Dude "helped thousands of people to build 6 figures companies in just 12 weeks!"
I guess he will be fine, if not, he should use his own blueprints and he will have a 6 figures business in no time

I guess he made more than that? People start to come for you when you start to grow as a business.

What I found from a quick Google search. Never heard of this guy but if you're just stealing images, you'll likely get caught if you start getting noticed. I get all of my images from www.pixabay.com and make sure they're not copyrighted.
 
Yup, and as technology gets more advanced it seems to be easier and easier to find people who are using copyrighted images when they shouldn't be, which means copyright trolls are going to have more and more field days.

If you're going to use stolen images, you should probably be sure it's REALLY hard to track them back to you - the smarter route to go is to just use public domain images or pay the small fee to use images legally. It's not unheard of to be asked to cough up $XXX-X,XXX per image to settle out of court, and if you wind up going to court it's gonna be WAY more than that. Not worth it.

If I grow large I am a possible victim of getting sued?

Yes. And please dont use the word victim. No one is the victim except the photographers/original content creators. Those people have to put food on the table just like you and me.

You need to do what large brands do. Follow-up with confirmation to repost.

1) Ask them
2) Follow up and have them agree to your terms.

I have some picts that have been stolen and just one word, those large feature accounts will comply.
If not, they can be closed down. I've seen multiple 300k accounts closed due to IP infringements.
 
but is it really wrong to use copyrighted images? they are displayed by default in google search. the ones who sue for using their images are equall to people reporting pbn
