Getting sued $$$$$ for other people's content.

Getty wrecked the stock photo market when they bought up their main rival. Prices across all companies went up after that. Still, though, no excuse to rip off others work and it's taking a big chance in doing so.

So many fairly affordable stock agencies out there. Surely one of them has the photo you need. Pay the $5/10 bucks a pop and rest easy. That's my 3 cents.

No. That only applies if you use a piece of imagery for 'fair use' - artistic, news reporting, non-profit.

If you take a picture of someone's else lambo, fade it to black and put up a meme quote about success (as I see in many IG luxe feeds), it does not count.
Because you are profiting from it indirectly, using it for commercial gain. Most of the meme feeds are pure copyright theft-fest.

There was this one artist who sold pictures of people's IG posts; blown up to size. He argued fair use but it went out the door once he tried to sell it at an art exhibit.
