Not anytime soon my friend, too many plans for it among countries and it solves a big problems. Imagine for a second, you need to travel to another country and bitcoin is accepted all you need to do is buy bitcoin and you can properly have transactions without having to exchange your currency. This is the future.

There is a whole wiki devoted to cryptos. Read all you can about it, just search google for bitcoin wiki and read up wikipedia and the other crypto wikis.
Pay attention to the mt. gox and cryptsy chapters, see how people get scammed. Then read about pump and dump (what you're seeing now is the dump).

It's very simple. Just start looking into how to read crypto charts (or stock market stuff in the first place). Maybe you should do some virtual trades on Investopedia or something like that before you actually buy. Watch some beginner YT videos, read the forums, interact with people who've actually made good money with cryptocurrency. And then when you do buy, look into what you can do with it (loaning, mining, exchanging, trading, etc.).
