Hey guys,
So I've been financially struggling for the last few months and I realized that I need to find a job related to SEO or Social Media marketing. Anyways, with 7 years of freelancing experience and 8 years of fake experience certificate (Technically it's legit but since my uncle owns the company, I had no problem getting myself this experience certificate), I thought that it should be good enough to land a decent job.
I applied in a few companies and have been called in for 3-4 interviews - they all went exceptionally good. In my first interview, I was told by the employer that I seem to know a lot more than their SEO lead. This got my hopes really high and I was confident that I'll get this job but they never contacted me.
Last year I got my friend into IM and taught him a few things to get him started in this field. He went for this interview last month and suggested me that I apply as well. I forwarded them my resume and someone from the company called me to have an in-depth discussion about my skills in IM. I'm pretty sure that also went pretty good, but again - no response.
On the other hand, my friend was offered the job for that position. It's not like I'm jealous or anything, in fact, I'm happy for my friend. But the thing is that he's not interested to work in there and now they're kind of begging him to join. On the other hand, they didn't even invite me for an actual interview.
We both know that I'm way too skilled and experienced in this field but maybe it's just my bad luck that I don't land even a single job.
In short, it really sucks man. Knowing that you're probably way too skilled than the employer himself but no one is actually understanding your talents. Job hunting sucks...
Edit: Yesterday I went for this interview where a 22-year-old was interviewing me and acting as if he has been into IM for a decade. That dude didn't even know how Reddit works. This really pisses me off and makes me sad about the fact how this world works.
