Complete noob to anything myspace related - not looking to make any money through the usual myspace methods, just looking for an enormous fan base and song listens ( real people or as close to real as possible) I would more than happy to hire someone with a good rep and the skills needed to get that done. $ per x friends? $ per x listens?

This is what you should do.

- Add 400 people per day. Don't just blast them with your music. It's annoying. Be their FRIEND. If they comment you reply, and ask "How are you?" or something. Most bands don't reply and it's annoying. I delete them off my personal MySpace.
- Post bulletins with random/funny videos/pictures. Be a PERSON, and they will like you. Fans feel closer to bands this way and are more likely to purchase your album. When you finally market your EP, they will read your bulletins. If you're always marketing people will ignore you when you post a very important bulletin.
- Fake your MySpace plays (I don't do this but it works). Use software, don't pay someone to use the software for you.
- Have contests
- Get a LEGIT layout
- Pay a photographer to take your picture
- Comment people out of the blue. But don't just promote yourself. Talk to them then you can shamelessly tell them about your new cd or whatever.

A band isn't like the spamming world. Sure, you can learn a thing or two from this forum but it's not the same. You have to build relationships with fans.

This is coming from someone with 35k fans and I just released my EP yesterday. :)

PM me the MS page I will see about getting you plenty of views and plays, can't promise anything but there are ways and means.

Quality Advice there Yagami, thanks a lot.

I figure I need the best of both white and black hat here. Being that I would appreciate real fans, but have the feeling most of the other myspace chart toppers are cheating too or have label deals with shills out there - in fact I know they do -

Yagami,

I'm also trying to help a friend promote his Music... What software are out there to be able to "fake" the number of plays...

There's more to it than just plays and views, like number of fans. I'm pretty sure Myspace now monitors the frequency of freinds/views/plays in relation to the age and activity on the profile. In other words, it's not as easy as it used to be.

Careful blastng your profile with thousands of plays a day - there are better ways to do it. Try commenting back to new fans with a reverbnation player. Those little buggers are like profile view magnets, and they're free.

I can help you increase your views, plays and friends. Only faking plays though, but that is a good start to getting real plays. PM me about it.

Get the Friendblaster. its somewhere on the forum. blast as yagami said. start a blog also
And don't annoy fans.
