This is what you should do.
- Add 400 people per day. Don't just blast them with your music. It's annoying. Be their FRIEND. If they comment you reply, and ask "How are you?" or something. Most bands don't reply and it's annoying. I delete them off my personal MySpace.
- Post bulletins with random/funny videos/pictures. Be a PERSON, and they will like you. Fans feel closer to bands this way and are more likely to purchase your album. When you finally market your EP, they will read your bulletins. If you're always marketing people will ignore you when you post a very important bulletin.
- Fake your MySpace plays (I don't do this but it works). Use software, don't pay someone to use the software for you.
- Have contests
- Get a LEGIT layout
- Pay a photographer to take your picture
- Comment people out of the blue. But don't just promote yourself. Talk to them then you can shamelessly tell them about your new cd or whatever.
A band isn't like the spamming world. Sure, you can learn a thing or two from this forum but it's not the same. You have to build relationships with fans.
This is coming from someone with 35k fans and I just released my EP yesterday.
