Getting backlinks from heavily spammed blogs? Good or bad?

So I've started building some backlinks to a new site of mine and I currently own big lists of targeted do-follow blog pages that also have high PR and .edu blogs as well. The problem with those is that they receive hundreds and hundreds of spam comments were other guys like me are targeting they own anchor texts.

Is it okay to continue building links with such blogs? Do they carry any weight in Google's eyes or by doing so I am actually hurting my site? :questionm

More outbound links = less value
Those blogs are spammed to death and those links wont effect your rankings (at least not in a positive way.

OBL's probably don't matter as much as everyone says they do. However, it's nice to be closer to the top of the page. I doubt G counts every link on a spam page with 40k links. However, on the flip side getting these links (the ones that count anyways) will give you more referring domains in total which is good in SEO because it creates a viral look for your site.

The less outbound links on a page, the better a backlink on that page will be for you.

Here's a decent guide made by a new member on finding good quality blogs for making your backlinks. It's a manual process, but if you follow it you can get some very high quality comment backlinks from non-spammed blogs.

One of my main domains is very old and trusted and i tried to rank a subpage. This is the only one which did not move spot for months (sitting on #21). So i thought: Hmm k, let's try it with scrapebox and got the results OP has described. Now i suffer under a P50 since 1 month for this subpage.

3 year ago, i have commented on a blog page that have PR4. The page have around 400 comments that time.. Last week I checked that page again and it took almost 10 minutes for loading. The comments were around 6300 something..

To my surprise, the page still have PR4..

I have exactly the opposite experience with several pages that were on page two and with a continuous blast with SB got it on page one and they stay there. Your conclusion is irrelevant to high OBL. I agree on the principle that low OBL is better, but it doesn't mean high OBL links are worthless...

Ultimately SEO is all about "everything in moderation", every link has value, as long as no one type is overdone.

I would second the above posters phrase...in moderation...

a little of everything, to make the site seem MUCH MORE NATURAL is the way to go...looking natural makes the bots think it's real users and all those other things....keep it looking real and not-faked and you'll get on page 1 with dedication.

lol ive just blasted my site with 3k pr 1 -9 pages do follow links, and my site goes up in serp. yeah I believe they are ok. if your stuck at 3 or 4th places, this is a good boost for your site.
