Getting Approved for AdSense

Hey I am running a community site, basically a local social network that has community posts, events, job listings and news.

I am trying to get AdSense approved but am getting denied for "Low Value Content".

Anyone have any insight here? Are community sites hard to approve for AdSense? Does it just require minimum amounts of traffic? Is there a better PPC platform to integrate?
